Dears, started to use this router couple of weeks ago: fw tried:
1.Merlins 19b from last series- had a problems with my samsung np7 chronos, connection was hardly found already in another room;
2. factory 220 - just something as temporary substitute, currently most stable
3. then fw 246 - worse than before one 220, but no wifi drops,
4. then last merlins -246.20 wifi droppped down almost at once.

Anybody can recommend old rock solid, just working with wifi stable?

Since 246.20 uses the exact same wireless driver as firmware 220, the issue must be something else. Try changing the Enhanced Interference Management option under Wireless -> Professional, some people have better experience with this option disabled, for other users it works best when enabled.

merlins stuff

Dear Merlin,

I did not use reset or clear nvram there, the only thing - made a reboot after flash.
Could cleaning be helpful...
It was sometimes helpful in my previous life with Tomatos...

However if you could indicate an old long used and fully checked and approved working build from history , I would be happy to try it.....

For me the latest Asuswrt-Merlin (246.20) is (obviously) the most stable build. I didn't test Asus's build 260 at all, but since it uses the same wireless driver as Asus's 246 I assume it will display similar stability issues for some users (not everyone is affected).

Indeed, sometimes an nvram wipe can fix some weird issues, but I would start with changing the interference option first.

stable builds

Will try to do it in late evening or early morning, when my biggest critique will sleep.
