New Around Here
Here's a new thing that just started tonight:

My wireless was slow so I rebooted. After it finished I went in and looked at the management page. Low and behold when I looked at the system log page I noticed it said it was December 31st. NTP settings had not changed. Time zone had not changed. So what the heck is going on? I hit the apply button and when it comes back the date is correct.

Curious I reboot.

Router comes back up. Date is December 31st again. NTP settings have not changed. Time zone has not changed. I hit apply. Date is correct.

I reboot.

December 31st. So again I apply to get the correct date.

Reboot.

December 31st.

Seriously, WTF?

THe router has no internal clock. Therefore the date will always be back to December 31st after a reboot, until the time the router can establish an Internet connection to setup the time in its OS through NTP. This only works in Router mode however, it won't work in AP mode where there is no WAN interface.

That makes sense. I was just sort of surprised to see it. I have been seeing slowness issues after the router is up 2-3 hours and while dinking around after reboot and noticed.

Thanks for the response.
