    Shallow Packet Inspection for 2025

Great job, plenty of changes from ASUS side on SDN and the new WiFi architecture requiring more develoment work from your end. Thank you for your continued contribution to this scene!

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.6 is now available

This is an issue within the WiFi chip or the WiFi driver or the TV box and nothing to do with the router The logs is actually telling you that the client is considered to be disassociated as it's no longer responding to the router

Is Roaming Assistant really running when it's disabled?

Disabling roaming assistance wouldn't kill the roamast process but the active scanning / deauth feature would be disabled. You shouldn't see any roamast deauth or disconnect logs once you disabled roaming assistance.

    Adaptive QoS and HW acceleration

As of June 2025, AdaptiveQoS is nothing more than a feel good button on all WiFi 7 models. Which means whatever game acceleration QoS on their ROG WiFi 7 models is false advertising.

Is there a way to restart AIMesh without rebooting the router?

Seems like cfg_server process on your AiMesh system got stuck Do you mind to share the output of this command whenever this happens? netstat -tnap | grep cfg_server BTW, you can perform a soft restart of AiMesh via this command, only works on the main unit It will force to resync wireless...

XT8 troubleshooting log, cfg_server possibly an issue

I manage to solve this issue on my scenario and found that it's caused by a smart home device keep trying to connect to one of the mesh node every few seconds. Since ASUSWRT enforced protected management frames on their latest WiFi 7 models, that particular client didn't support it and caused...

XT8 troubleshooting log, cfg_server possibly an issue

Any idea which particular configurations seem to cause this? I am currently diagnosing a similar issues with GT-BE98 where a cfg_server crash will cause all the nodes and take a while to recover. It does recover automatically. Am already on Ethernet backhaul mode. Thanks!

I'm about to give up on the BQ16, Inconsistent WiFi speeds.

Coming from the XT12 and the BQ16 feels liks a huge downgrade and plagued with endless firmware issues. It's just inconsistent and often perform worst than the XT12. Not to mention that the firmware might be prone to stability issues.

RT-BE92U slow performance on 5GHz band

If you are coming from RT-AX86U PRO or basically any ASUS WiFi 6 model with 3x3 or 4x4 on the 5GHz band, the RT-BE92U is going to provide an inferior performance even with WiFi 7 client. Even the RT-AX86U Pro delivers much better throughput on the 5GHz band than the RT-BE92U. The 5GHz band on...
