I don’t know when it was released, but when I checked for new firmware today, there was a new release. I have installed it and have my fingers crossed that it takes care of the Internet disconnection issues.
I just answered my own questions I believe.
I checked a couple of articles that Google AI linked to and found this:
[Wireless Router] What is AFC? How to enable AFC? - (United States Only)
It is, apparently, only currrently available in the U.S. and is only included in the GS-BE18000...
I just read an article from ASUS on a test of AFC on one of their gaming routers and enabling it basically doubled throughput by increasing the power levels on the 6 GHz band.
More than double the speed? Through AFC, this WiFi 7 router aced our 6GHz torture test
So, I Googled whether or not...
I too have been experiencing this issue. Mine will go 7-10 days or so and then out of nowhere, no Internet access, but the BQ16s show everything as okay. Rebooting just the router, not the node, restores full functionality. I did have one disconnect occur after about one day of working, but...
I’ve been going through some issues with my BQ16 Pros (two) recently that I thought I’d go ahead and share here in case they may help someone else.
First, I have a couple of weather stations on my WiFi network. A Netatmo and a Tempest. I purchase the Tempest as a replacement for the Netatmo...
I updated to the latest firmware on Monday and so far it’s been quite promising. Three days in and I have only one minor quibble. When pinging the router (and also Internet IP addresses that I am sure are due to the router) I get five or so responses and then it misses responses every three to...
Well, things have been going pretty smoothly for me for the last couple of weeks, but today proved to be problematic.
I first noticed that my iPhone wasn’t getting Internet access, so I switched WiFi off and back on again and it started working for a couple of minutes and then lost its Internet...
I was experiencing an issue with a SONOS Arc that would simply not connect to my main WiFi 7 network. While this was happening, I remembered a little Internet clock that I had that quit working when I upgraded the network to the BQ16 Pros (two, in my case), so I decided to set up the IoT...
Yes, it’s a couple of weeks and I can confirm that the same issues are occurring with the router. It’s still appears that there is some sort of DNS issue though I have found that the router can become unreachable from the clients for whatever reason. A disconnect and reconnect will, however...
ASUS dropped new firmware on the 11th that seems, so far, to have resolved similar issues with my network.
At this point, if you are still experiencing major issues, I would factory reset after the latest firmware update and set up the network again from scratch. If that doesn’t fix it, I’d...
Well, it’s been a few days on the latest BQ16 firmware and the system does seem to be better. I have not had to disconnect and reconnect to WiFi from my Apple devices since updating, so I’m cautiously optimistic that the isssue, whatever it was, is fixed. I read through the release notes and...
I’ve had some fun experiences with my BQ16 Pro (set of two) recently.
In general, they have been working relatively well but occasionally my Apple devices seem to lose Internet access. It seems like a DNS issue with the lookups not going through and just hanging. A quick disabling of WiFi on...
Knock on wood, but I reset and reconfigured the router and things seemed to have stabilized now. It has been running without rebooting for a day and a half now whereas before, it would reboot every half an hour or so. It looks like the node has stabilized as well.
In the logs, it's easy to...
I too took the plunge and purchased the BQ16 two-piece set, and I am also experiencing a lot of instability with the router and node. I've checked lots of things, but nothing is helping so far. I eventually tried a factory reset by holding the WPS button down while powering up the router and...
