ASUS N66U and AC68U - Dropping WAN only

OK but thank you anyway. Just one question, in your 50 beta2 thread at the beginning someone posted that now the router doesnt recognize any more when the wan cable is pulled and plugged in again, might this be a reason?

ASUS N66U and AC68U - Dropping WAN only

I have the same problems with PPTP dial-up where no "Agressive" mode exists. Still, using any firmware above 3.0.0.4.376.3626 drops the WAN connection, or lets say, it doesn't reconnect. I changed the modem, flashed the router incl. factory defaults, changed the cable .. so its definitely...

ASUS N66U and AC68U - Dropping WAN only

For me it was the same. Since upgrading to 3.0.0.4.378.3813 the WAN would not reconnect after the forced disconnect of my ISP and in general the WAN connection would be unstable. I'm currently back to 3.0.0.4.376.3626 which works fine for over week now. Maybe you too go back to this firmware...

    WAN dropping constantly (ASUS RT-AC68U)

I changed the cables, but no improvement. With the earliest 376 firmware it's fine again. Also someone noticed that with Merlins new beta which uses 378 the router doesn't reconnect if the WAN cable is removed and plugged in again, and that's I guess what causing the problems..

RT-N66U loses internet connection - Troubleshooting tips

It is the same for me: AC68U behind a ADSL modem. If the connection is dropped the router is unable to reconnect. The modem stays sync all the time. A restart of the router, not the modem, helps and everything is back to normal. Seems to apply to people using external dial-up modems. I...

WAN disconnects - router or ISP issue?

Has more or less has to be the router. I changed the modem -> problem persists. I changed to an other router -> problem gone. I changed back to firmware 374.5656 -> problme gone. So with firmware 376.xxxx they introduced some error than prevents the router from correctly re-connecting..

WAN disconnects - router or ISP issue?

I can confirm this issue. My ISP forces a re-connect all 24 hours. It worked fine for about a year, but since I flashed to firmware 378 (with factory reset), the router does not re-connect. With firmware 374.4422 everything worked fine and the router did re-connect. Is there any way to...

Hi, i reall need some advice on how to proceed. Since last year I run a AC68u with a Speedtouch modem, using PPTP and ADSL in Austria. Everything worked perfectly with firmware 374.4422 from about February till last week. Then I udpated to the latest firmware, did a factory reset and...

RT-AC68U - Change hostnames of clients

Hi, I've setup my AC68U routers which are working fine, just one point annoys me: The names of the Android clients and some printers in the client list. I have given them a fixed ip via dhcp assignment. For example the phones show up as android-xxxx-xxx or so in the list. So is...
