    Works perfectly. Thank you! Bonus question: If i occasionally want to change that one destination IP (or perhaps, if easier, add more exception IPs) without having to open the GUI, but preferrably run a script or something from my computer (debian). Is that possible?

    I am running an OpenVPN client in my router. I want all traffic to go through the VPN, except traffic to/from one specific internet IP address. Can this be done in the OpenVPN client settings web GUI? If not, how?

    Uh, maybe i spoke too soon. It's been running stable for days but of course right after i wrote this my main router's WAN connection has dropped three of times again already.     Turns out my ISP wasn't glitching. It was the router. For some reason I wasn't able to get a stable WAN connection with my RT-AC86U (384.10_2) router.     Thank you. My script had in fact not been running. I've now fixed it by CHMOD'ing /jffs/scripts/openvpnclient1.postconf to 0777 and restarted the client. The "persist-tun" line is now preceded by a # in /tmp/etc/openvpn/client1/config.ovpn. For the record, here's the complete file...

    I restarted the WAN by executing service restart_wan in putty (while the VPN connection was working). The VPN connection came back up automatically without my intervention.
