    Switch & Router connections

    I have a home theater cabinet that requires 5 ethernet connections....at this location is just one ethernet jack that's hardwired back to a patch panel in the basement....here I have a Linksys E4200 and Cisco SE2800 1G switch. Only Wan and switch are connected to the router....everything else...

    Network Speed Qusetion

    Lets say you have an unlimited bandwidth feed at 20 meg down, 1 meg up. run the feed into a 4 port switch.....what does each port then have as bandwidth and speed..... I assume that bandwidth is still unlimited so all ports have unlimited access, what happens to speed at each port? Thanks

    Setting up Synology DS213 w/ 2 3TB drives

    How to change from SHR to separate volumes stevech: I run a 213 w/2 HD in SHR....ur separate volume approach makes more sense.....everything on Vol 1, then use Vol. 2 as ur backup + ur other external BU redundancies.....I'd like to do this can u recommend an easy and safe way to transition...

    First NAS - share the process - good results

    slow bu to ext drive I can't speak to actual speed but I did try Data Replicator with a USB2/NTFS external drive and found it very slow.....the best solution I've found so far is Allway Sync together with windows task scheduler and my backups have been working well.

    Ur right however this issue I should have known before the post.....the DS213 is a Linux based system.....ntfs is not a choice.... I'll keep ur suggestion in mind next time. Actually problem is mine....need to think a little more before jumping to post!

    No idea about dr4500 but I'm sure u can check the list of compatible routers - google Tomato Firmware. I know the Shibby version of Tomato was what worked with my E4200. good luck!
