    Wndr 3700, 37av, 3800, 4000 -

A very well written post. After reading the review on this site about the WNDR3700v1, I made the plunge and purchased one. So here is my story. 1st one I purchased either had bad vram or the firmware was non-existent so I took it back to the retailer. Swapped it for a another one...

Help!?: Wireless Router --> WAP --> Switch --> Subnet (in shared house)

If the Netgear switch will allow you to create routing tables and if you want to have a total of 3 VLAN's you shouldn't have any problems. As far as the bridge goes, Netgears' own WNDR3700 is supposed to have bridging capabilities by default but if it does not you can always just flash DD-WRT...

Help!?: Wireless Router --> WAP --> Switch --> Subnet (in shared house)

Based on the setup you want, this should be realitively easy. I recommend using a wireless bridge and connecting the switch to the bridge. Setup 2 VLAN's on the switch. 1 VLAN is going to have everything that is going to be on the same subnet as the internet access, including the WD Tv's and...

    DOCSIS upgrade question

This is not true, I work for Time Warner Cable and was a Level 3 rep in their regional office before I moved on to Network Operations. You absolutely can use your own cable modem. But to answer the OP's question, you can see increased speed if your ISP supports channel bonding without having...

Does your wireless bridge's performance slowly decrease?

I have a similar issue with a DAP-1522. My connection does not go completely out like yours but there are times when my DAP, even though its on a N only network using a 40Mhz channel width, will suddenly have its throughput speed to the router drop to 11Mbps. The only thing I have connected to...

Help!?: Wireless Router --> WAP --> Switch --> Subnet (in shared house)

Well, for starters the best (easiest) way to get your subnet configured onto the existing wireless network will be to use a wireless bridge on the existing subnet. What I would like to clarify is whether you plan on having your own subnet, with vlans, or you do not mind having your switch on...

    NETGEAR WNDR3700 Reviewed

I actually just updated the WIKI recently so you should be good to go from that stand point. As far as the VPN support, you are correct it has nothing to do with the DD-WRT builds themselves. Even openVPN has issues and there is alot of speculation as to why it isn't working but nobody has...

    NETGEAR WNDR3700 Reviewed

Here is the DD-WRT page for the 3700. I have been unable to locate a specific Tomato build for this router but short of lackluster VPN support and the issue with certain revisions having bad/failing ath0/ath1 on both radios, this is the current champion of dual band Wireless N routers.
