Good WAP's to cover a small building?

If I increased the budget to $150 per device does that afford me some better options? If so what would you choose?

Good WAP's to cover a small building?

Sorry about that. I'm looking to spend no more than $100 per device. So 100 each or less for each WAP and 100 or less for the switch.

Good WAP's to cover a small building?

So I'm finally fed up with the WiFi at my local church and I'm going to fix it. I have a good idea of what I'd like to do, but I'm not sure what WAP's I need to do this with. Right now they have a Verizon Fios router running to a switch and 1 UniFi AP connected to that. It covers a few rooms and...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

Quick question for you guys... currently I'm running 378.54_2 and It's been pretty stable for me, however I recently added a 100Mbps device to my network and now my performance seems to be sporadic and even clients that have always been up and available intermittently show as offline now...

Help bring sanity to my home setup :)

Alright guys, so I got my R7000 and after a bit of trial and error I got the Vortex Merlin FW loaded and configured. Results? Well my Comcast package is 150Mbps down and on speediest.net I'm getting 167Mbps... so yeah NICE. Also over wireless I'm getting pretty much 150Mbps so this is working...

Thanks for all the advice. Thanks everyone for all the advise in this thread, it's been immensely helpful. Now my last decisions is Merlin FW vs. Tomato... hmm....

Help a noob spec WiFi for a church

Yeah I think I might save some money and go with N AP's instead of AC - I'm doing this for them and buying this stuff myself so I'd like to save money where I can. I think I can do wired from all the AP's, I talked to some staff last night and I can drill through some drywall above the drop...

Help a noob spec WiFi for a church

LOL, usually after. :) I used the 250 clients number because we can at times have that many people in attendance on Sunday but I'm sure the actual wifi usage would be much less.

Help bring sanity to my home setup :)

Ok so the R7000 should be here today, I'm excited! I know I know, being excited about a new router is kinda nerdy but I'm a tech guy I love new things to configure LOL. Several of you have mentioned I should do a star topology with the R7000 at the center of the star but I have a question about...

So large torrent traffic wouldn't consume a lot of CPU either?

Help bring sanity to my home setup :)

Wowsers, that definitely helps but some is a bit above my head - multiple switching paths, spanning tree, start topology even :( Currently the cable modem/router all-in-one is set to bridge mode and the N66U is the router it's bridged to with all other devices hanging off the N66U. Since my...

Help bring sanity to my home setup :)

The router and cable modem are all-in-one so I was going to connect the switch to the router/modem and connect the second switch to the first switch - then use R7000 for Wireless only. Why did you suggest to use the N66u for 2.4? Would it make the R7000 operate that much faster or better if it...

Help bring sanity to my home setup :)

Thanks, the cable modem is one of those WiFi, modem, router all in one deals so it can serve up DHCP. Also I forgot to mention I have several AC capable clients in the house so this move would to R7000 would also serve the purpose of providing AC in the house where as the N66U is just N. Thanks...

Help bring sanity to my home setup :)

So while I'm doing some work for others on my other post, I think it's time to spruce up my own home setup as well. Currently I have: Office - Comcast Xfinity and using a N66U with a tower computer & networked printer connected to the N66 Living Room - Ubiquity Touchswitch POE connected with...

Help a noob spec WiFi for a church

Sorry for the delay in answering, was out all day. That's a good question though... So my understanding is that you shouldn't piggy back an access point off another access point because that severely degrades your speed.... that correct? If that's the case my best bet would be to run each AP...
