    What you listed is indeed cheaper but that is the price I see for the Trendnet TEG-S762 on amazon in CAD also maybe the $150 he listed was in USD But I would assume either one should be good.

    That is a nice switch I was looking at it before however it cost abit more than $150 but I agree with Merlin that a 4 port router and this switch should cover most people.

    I also ran into that issue where I couldn't upgrade it from 2.4.0 to 2.5.2 but saw the first couple post to uninstall and reinstall and good now.

    i've actually had this issue since I went from the AX88U to AX88U Pro in the last few firmware versions. On the previous router after a firmware update it would see the USB drive and everything was mounted and fine. On the Pro I always have to either unmount drive before the flash or after flash...

    I just did a dirty upgrade to 388.7 I tested a stream from my NAS to Lenovo P12 Pro tablet and had no issues.

    Doesn't using the asus app remotely mean you have to Enable Web Access from WAN? Which isn't the best thing to do for security.

    What you are suggesting will cost alot more than an Asus Router running merlin. And most people at home just don't have a use for an "enterprise grade" setup at home. Of course there will be some that can but most on here probably not.
