RP-AC68U repeater and RT-AC68U setup issues

ASUS should be ashamed of itself for putting out this piece of crap. I could never get it to work correctly and they have seemed to abandon it with firmware updates. Mine sits in my closet. I will never again buy an ASUS router.

Can you use a gigabit ethernet switch with a Netgear EX7000 range extender

I currently use an EX7000 as a range extender. It has 5 gigabyte ethernet ports. However, I a need some additional ports and am wondering can I use a gigabit ethernet switch with the Netgear used as a range extender. My router is an ASUS AC router.

RP-AC68U repeater and RT-AC68U setup issues

I too share your sentiment. I am no longer using this crappy device. I went back to a Netgear EX7000, which with the latest firmware, has been rock solid thus far. ASUS, look yourself in the mirror and do something about fixing this product!!

    RP-AC68U

I am very disappointed in this unit. Drops the signal at least twice a day. Could never get it to work via WPS setup. No firmware upgrade in about a year. My other ASUS products have been rock solid. Sorry I bought this product.

RP-AC68U repeater and RT-AC68U setup issues

I'm very disappointed in this product. There are major problems with it. The signal gets dropped at least twice a day. ASUS hasn't issued a firmware update in almost a year, yet many complain of problems with this unit. Common ASUS, support your customers. Please fix this unit!!

What hard drive should you buy for your NAS?

Do you really need NAS drives for software based RAID? I understand the need for specialty NAS drives for Hardware RAID. However, outside of the longer warranty for the NAS drives, are there any real advantages over non-NAS drives for software RAID systems used by Synology, QNAP, Asustor, etc.?

Why are NAS devices so expensive

I can see some of your points I can see some of your points. However, the same R&D for software goes into 2 bay vs. 4 + bay units, yet the pricing of 4 bay units seems disproportionately high given the relatively small increases in hardware costs. And when you go from 4 bay Intel Atom units...

Why are NAS devices so expensive

You are missing the point I know that Dell is not a NAS vendor. I'm trying to understand why people are not more upset about the pricing of 4 bay plus NAS devices given the minimal amount of money that seems to be spent on the hardware costs. I realize this is a more specialized market...

Why are NAS devices so expensive

The parts costs don't justify the cost When you look at the Dell PC, the parts costs are much higher. Dell also provides support and does R & D. I agree that the pricing seems fairer for two bay NAS devices. However, the price should not almost double (or more) when you get to 4 bays...

Why are NAS devices so expensive

I scratch my head when I look at pricing. A cheap Dell computer with a 4th Generation Intel Core i3-4150 processor, windows 8.1 (64 bit), 4GB Single Channel DDR3 1600MHz RAM, a 1TB 7200 rpm SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive, a DVD drive, wireless keyboard and mouse costs $399. Yet to get a core i3...

Everything You Need To Know About Wireless Bridging and Repeating

Still very confused Do I plug the endgadget router into the same computer in which I currently have my Netgear 3700 router attached to, or do I just use any of the other computers that I am wirelessly connected to the Netgear device to set up the Engadge router to use as a wireless bridge? I...
