    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

You're right this is off topic so this is going to be my last post about it. Like i said, there are specific cases where an open product can't be sold again because the outside package is damaged or a seal was broken. An example are those plastic packages that need to be cut open with scissors...

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

That's not really true. Some companies will let you do that the same way some companies will also give you the opportunity to return the item if you bought it in person and not online, but there is no law for that. The law says that the the consumer may me held liable if the handling of the...

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

We don't have amazon here in portugal, we use the spanish one which is made to sell to both spanish and portuguese people. However, returning items is different from the .com . The spanish company tasked with returns has a 1 star rating on trust pilot. Most reviews are from packages that...

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

I'm going to keep an eye on markets for used AX58U's V1. I'm not really in a hurry. I haven't moved the openvpn server to the nuc yet because my upload speed is only 15Mb/s so the router is enough. It's something i'll do later this year when i switch to fiber.

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

I do have a couple of couple of scripts and some modified config files. I'm looking at https://demoui.asus.com and there are other small things missing. SMB configuration is lacking several things, openVPN like you said. I have grafana pulling data with SNMP. Also can't seem to find a way to do...

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

No best buy here in europe. Cheapest one is on amazon.es with prime. The cables come from above. The router in inside a place similar to a pantry. It needs to be flush to the wall so i can reach other stuff. There is a chance i might change to fiber later this year so my current DOCSIS MTA...

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

Yeah those 2 are out of my budget. I guess i'll wait for newer models. The AX56U and AX58U will probably never get better. Both have been on the market for a while and one is already discontinued.

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

Oh, that's good to know. I saw the AX58U on the list and thought all revisions were supported. Supporting Merlin is a must

Already have one and it's full of stuff i can't take away. What about other models that are a bit more expensive?

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

Like i said in my previous post, it needs to be wall mountable unfortunately.

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

I love my AC66U, it's rock solid in terms of stability and compatibility. Unfortunately it's slow in terms of cpu power (10Mb/s openvpn max and 120Mb/s wan speed with CTF disabled). Although those are not hard reasons for me to need to switch, it would be nice to have something faster and with...

    Really appreciate the explanation 👍

Asus AC66U and full cone NAT

Forgive me for still being here. I've been reading more about NATs. From what i can tell (or what's written online), symmetric NATs are very rare in domestic routers, they are usually used public wifi hotspots, schools, some companies, and cellular connections (or sometimes CG-NATs). In those...

Asus AC66U and full cone NAT

Thank you. This pretty much answers most of my questions. Just out of curiosity, i ran this tool and it gave me these results: Would you consider the results valid, as in port restricted cone as opposed to symmetric?
