    Broadcom's hardware acceleration

What settings can cause FA to be disabled? Something is knocking it out on my AC68P, leaving only CTF enabled. I disabled STP after reading Soul--Reaver's post, but it didn't re-enable it for me.

Problem with Gigabit fiber optic internet + AC66U

Hmm, OK, thanks for the opinion. I've always held Netgear in high regard but haven't kept up with routers since purchasing my AC66U way back when. I've got some reading to do! Any reason you that you didn't recommend the RT-AC87U? Edit: Interesting WAN to LAN results.... o_O

Problem with Gigabit fiber optic internet + AC66U

Think I might go with a Netgear R8000, there's a decent deal to be had on it locally right now. http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_1046_1047&item_id=076154 I'm open to any suggestions! Should I go with the Netgear, or stick to an different Asus router? If so, which one...

Problem with Gigabit fiber optic internet + AC66U

Indeed! Now I'm wondering if I should go for an RT-AC68U, RT-AC87U, RT-AC3200 or wait for the newer batch of Asus hardware that's surely not too far from release. o_O I've overclocked the AC66U to 662MHz, but I'm not sure if it's actually applying the speed or not. Speed is up to ~890Mbps, but...

Problem with Gigabit fiber optic internet + AC66U

Upgraded to 378.55, rebooted, and speeds were back to ~200Mbps. This time I had the router's control panel open and noticed that the CPU was pegged at 100% usage even at only 200Mbps. Resetting the router for 30 seconds did the trick again, and this firmware seems a bit quicker: There's...

Problem with Gigabit fiber optic internet + AC66U

OK, so thanks to the following threads: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/ac68-and-378-55-speed-and-kernel.27144/ http://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac68u-slow-wan-to-lan.25869/ I found the issue. I downgraded to 378.54_2 and speed improved marginally to ~215Mbps. After resetting the router...

Problem with Gigabit fiber optic internet + AC66U

Hi guys, I recently upgraded my 300Mbps fiber optic connection to a gigabit connection to see what living in the future felt like. My ISP (Bell Canada) has a special promo going on, where if you already have FTTH services you can upgrade to gigabit speeds for only $10 more a month. Couldn't...

RT-AC66U - Slow WAN to LAN

Has anyone come up with a solution for this? I'd like to get this working, finally. If no solution has been found, would an upgrade to AC68U do the trick?

RT-AC66U - Slow WAN to LAN

What exactly should I try changing about the MTU? Sorry, I'm not familiar with it's function. I'm certain the Sagemcom isn't establishing a connection, as it's unplugged. :D The ultimate goal here is to not use the Sagemcom. I want to use my RT-AC66U directly with the OTN, and toss the...

RT-AC66U - Slow WAN to LAN

Thanks for the reply Merlin, and for moving the thread to the appropriate sub-forum. I am running your custom firmware, which actually lowers the speed a little to 125/145 for some reason. Sysinfo page shows HW acceleration is enabled. OTN ---> Sagemcom = 179/196 OTN ---> RT-AC66U OFW PPPoE +...

RT-AC66U - Slow WAN to LAN

I've reset it multiple times on both OFW and Merlin's FW. Default setting result in the same problem. So PPPoE requires more overhead? Indicating possible CPU bottleneck on the router? Yes, it's enabled. I don't have QOS enable either, which would disable it.

RT-AC66U - Slow WAN to LAN

I had a fiber optic connection installed today, which is a 175Mbps/175Mbps service. The ISP provided me with a Sagemcom F@st 2864, which I don't want to use. It took me a while to get the RT-AC66U to work with the new PPPoE connection, but it now works with VLAN 35 set up properly. My issue...
