Merlin firmware for the new RT-AX86U?

I use a few methods, Slickdeals being one of them. That said, I actually scored this one using Keepa, which is a plugin that price-tracks and allows for custom alerts. It's neat, because it embeds itself directly into Amazon's site, and you can see a plethora of info on the product page. Highly...

Merlin firmware for the new RT-AX86U?

Mistake or no mistake - mine has already arrived at the carrier facility. Granted, I won't consider it a done deal until it's in my hands, but at the moment things are pointing in the right direction.

Merlin firmware for the new RT-AX86U?

PSA - I just scored an RT-AX86U for $49.99 on Amazon! They went quickly, but I’d continue to keep an eye on there for future sales. My AC86U has served me well, but I couldn’t pass up a deal like that. Now to sit back and patiently wait for rmerlin support. :p

    Web History not working

Same problem here with my AC86U. I’m on Merlin 384.5 and I did a factory reset via WPS method before and after flashing it. Hopefully this gets ironed out soon.

    RT-AC86U Rebooting over and over

Thank you for the suggestion. Yeah, my Xbox rarely turns on remotely, even though that is an advertised feature that should be able to be done from multiple apps. Either I have a lemmon in regards to the NIC, or there’s something about my router(s) it doesn’t like. It acted similar with the...

    RT-AC86U Rebooting over and over

Not that I know of. I have used Wi-Fi briefly on it in the past, but I assumed that once I hardwired it, the Wi-Fi would turn off. I also don’t see it reporting as a connected device on the router via Wi-Fi, only wired.

    RT-AC86U Rebooting over and over

My AC86U has been going strong for over 2 days straight now, which is better than the past few weeks. Looks like my Xbox One X was the culprit, which has acted weird from a networking standpoint since I got it on day one. I plugged it into the switch instead, and all seems to be well. Not sure...

    RT-AC86U Rebooting over and over

I have an un-managed, 8-port switch connected to that port, that has about 6 devices connected to it. I suppose I can start there, thank you for the suggestion!

    RT-AC86U Rebooting over and over

I am having a similar issue with my AC86U. It was happening on stock ASUS firmware - I then decided to install Merlin FW 384.5. I did a factory reset both before the flash and after, but it's still rebooting daily. Can anyone take a look at my logs? I'm not sure what to look for personally...

    AC86U Not Retaining QoS Settings

In Bandwidth Monitor, I assign all of my devices the High-Low assignment, but these settings are not retaining. A hard reboot wipes these out, and they will disappear even without doing that after a day or two. I am running Asuswrt-Merlin 384.3. I have seen other posts in regards to this, has...

    RT-AC86U - 3.0.0.4.382.16466 - CTF and FA missing?

Thank you for the clarification. I tried fc_disable=1, and I am not seeing it listed as disabled under Tools in the GUI. Am I to assume that is is, though? Runner says it's already disabled because I have QoS on. I liked knowing that HW Acceleration was off on my old router, the AC86U does not...

    RT-AC86U - 3.0.0.4.382.16466 - CTF and FA missing?

I was able to disable HW acceleration on my AC68U, and I needed to do this on occasion for WAN --> LAN to work. Is there a way to similarly do this on the AC86U? I tried "fc_disable=0", but that doesn't seem to work. It also says that it's "Enabled" under Tools regardless of toggling it via SSH...

    AC86U or AC88U?

Thanks for linking that thread - very informative and helpful.

    AC86U or AC88U?

Thanks again, RMerlin. I will likely go with the AC86U.

    AC86U or AC88U?

Thank you for the response, RMerlin. I am able to get either, brand new, at the same price of $199 at the moment. I might also flash the model I end up choosing with Asuswrt-Merlin; do you prefer one over the other in that regard? Thanks again.
