Site survey won't show 5ghz networks

@pete y testing My other hardware has no problems identifying used channels higher than 48. It's my both AC68U that can't see them. DFS could really be a point. But why should it affect the scanning? An active scan would touch and so interfere with any channel no matter what frequency you...

Site survey won't show 5ghz networks

...when not using channels 36 to 48. Hi, I got two AC68U running on 380.59. Both are HW ver. A1 as EU models. I just discovered they won't show any 5ghz network in the site survey when they are set to use any channel higher than 48 in the 5ghz band. Setting them back to channels 36 to 48 the...

Advice for good AC router on a budget needed.

If you haven't decided yet. You could take a look at Amazon.de. The rt-ac68u will be on sale today. Starting at 17:30. Standard price is around 155€ via Amazon, so you might get it for approx 120€ to 130€. Credit card needed to order, if I remember right.

2.4Ghz Auto Control Channel selection issues

I´m not sure...but: Choosing control channel 6 gives you 1 co-channel and 1 overlapping wifi-network in neighborhood. Choosing control channel 1 would bring 0 co-channel but 2 overlapping networks due to extension channel 5 for 40mhz. I have to ask something in addition: You are talking for...

    AC68U 380.58 , 5GHz EU regulation settings

Seems I misunderstood your answer... I can´t see a difference either in my routers. some running on channel 36+40 others running on channel 100+104 No matter if I use vendor firmware or 3rd party. Or using R7000 or AC68U.

    Wifi scanning tools

Hi, I just stumbled into something I was never really recognizing. Different tools like Inssider, Acrylic Wifi and Homedale show the correct Primary channels but different secondary channels when networks use 40Mhz bonding. So how could I tell wich channels are really free? For Example: A...

    RT-AC68U vs R7000 buying advice

My Qnap TS-231+ provides data fast enough for me, but I`m still using a HD connected to my router. The NAS is mainly used for backups of notebooks/desktops and for pics/vids from the router connected HD. I like the usb disk as it consumes very low power and provides the first fast and easy step...

    RT-AC68U vs R7000 buying advice

I wouldn´t recommend to compare the USB storage with a NAS, but it can be used in a quite comfortable way if the user isn´t in need of all the functions the latter provides. It seems the speeds differ quite a lot, that might depend on the connected disk.

    RT-AC68U vs R7000 buying advice

I use both devices as access points. Looking at -wired and wireless performance I could not recommend one over the other. -firmware I would definitely get the AC68U - no matter if using original ASUSWRT or ASUSWRT-MERLIN -storage usage I would tend to R7000, as I experienced higher read/write...

    Netgear R7000 or Asus RT-AC88?

Get the Asus...I´m quite sure it will stay longer up to date with firmware than Netgear. And in the case you are not satisfied with the AC88U (I doubt) sell it and get the R7000 instead ...still getting out with a plus in your wallet.

How good is the Netgear R7000 with the latest firmware?

I own the R7000 for about 2 month now. Starting with 1.0.3.80 was ok and stable for me using it as a router. No reboot for me for 2 weeks. Advancing to 1.0.4.18 was pretty the same experience. No reboot for me for 1 week. I recently went back to a beta firmware because the official ones are...
