Stability of Asuswrt-Merlin vs Stock Firmware
I’m running 384.19 on 2 rt-ac3100s in a mesh setup and I’m having a terrible time. Devices are dropping and the routers need rebooted at least once a day. I’m about to go back to stock firmware- smetlydc2

Asus dynamic DNS ([myhost].asuscomm.com) problem...
successfully enabled and registered my ddns name in the asus router. nslookup from command line works. resolves my address. both at home and remotely. http://myname.asuscomm.com:port does not work remotely. http://myname.asuscomm.com:port works on home network. am I missing some setting...- smetlydc2

Obviously I'm doing something wrong. The problem with Asus support is that they wont walk me thru setting it up or at very least verify some settings that I may have missed. Their only offering is outdated documentation. -

question... before I install Merlin....when I set connection to the router from HTTP to HTTPS... does this affect OpenVPN? I did try editing the ovpn file and added :8443 to the end of the dns name but that didn't help. -

Ok so here's the latest... spoke to Asus support again.. told them I got DDNS working but was still having issues with the OpenVPN software and the keys created in the router. level 2 support asked for the serial # on the router and told me that some of the RT-AC32oo's dont work with OpenVPN... -

Ok there was something wrong with the DDNS. I had an Ooma set up between the modem and the Asus and I think that was killing the DDNS. DDNS now says registered but connection is being refused Now I have a problem with the keys. Certification Authentication / Server certification / Server Key... -

No luck. I think the problem is either with my keys (opvn file) or my ddns
