    RT-AC66U w/asuswrt-merlin 378.55 stops fully booting

I was wrong...the router does not even enter recovery mode properly when it gets in this state. All I can do is ping the router on its configured IP (not 192.168.1.1); no SSH, no HTTP. To fix the issue I booted the router in regular (non-recovery) mode, scp a new firmware image to /tmp, SSH to...

    RT-AC66U not accessible anymore

See my post here, you might be able to connect via SSH. I had to use recovery restore procedure to bring it back. http://www.snbforums.com/index.php?threads/27975/ Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk

    RT-AC66U w/asuswrt-merlin 378.55 stops fully booting

Sure hope I don't need a new router (this was supposed to be the new/stable/fast one), but what would you recommend instead? Also, I didn't see anything in the changelog related to this, which is why I hesitate to upgrade without at least first backing up the filesystem for later inspection...

    RT-AC66U w/asuswrt-merlin 378.55 stops fully booting

I'm running into a strange issue where my router crashes and then won't fully boot up again, or at least that's what's happening as far as I can tell. Everything is operating normally, then without warning the router stops working. I try to reboot it, but it won't start back up again (even after...

    [HOW-TO] install Debian Squeeze

Yes, squeeze. It's old enough that it seems to work. Note of course that you won't be getting any security updates... I also had to remove "dash" from /debootstrap/required and then install the package manually after running debootstrap --second-stage; it has some conflict with bash in...

    [HOW-TO] install Debian Squeeze

I think I found a workaround, namely, you can use the unsupported but still-functional mirror "http://emdebian.bytesatwork.ch/mirror/grip" for Emdebian (http://www.emdebian.org/grip/). Just change the mirror URL and "stable" to "squeeze" in prepare.sh, and everything else should work as planned...

Asuswrt-Merlin 378.54_2 local DNS not working?

Yes! That was it. Many thanks. I had DNSFilter turned on to use OpenDNS Home. I believe I can accomplish the same thing just by setting OpenDNS's servers in the WAN DNS settings. Thanks again. Toby

Asuswrt-Merlin 378.54_2 local DNS not working?

FWIW, this does work when logged in to the router as 'admin' via SSH: # nslookup foo.mydomain.lan Server: 127.0.0.1 Address 1: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain Name: foo.mydomain.lan Address 1: 192.168.1.80 foo.mydomain.lan

Asuswrt-Merlin 378.54_2 local DNS not working?

Thanks for the quick reply. Both of those are set - I have "RT-AC66U's Domain Name" set to "mydomain.lan" and I verified that my name server shows up in /etc/resolv.conf in the client. I also tried querying the router directly (e.g., `host foo 192.168.1.1` where 192.168.1.1 is the address of the...

Asuswrt-Merlin 378.54_2 local DNS not working?

I finally upgraded from the 376.49 series yesterday to 378.54_2. Everything seems to be working great except for local DNS (and yes I did a factory reset after the upgrade). $ host foo.mydomain.lan Host foo.mydomain.lan not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) Where "foo" is the hostname I gave to the DHCP...
