    RT-AC87 5GHz Dropout Troubleshoot

I believe that quality control at ASUS for this router is horrendous.....After MONTHS of updating the BIOS trying to get the 5 GHZ channel to work....I finally gave up on this giant pile of dog excrement and bought a R8000 on black Friday.....Amazing...I updated the BIOS before setting anything...

Asus RT-AC87R port forwarding not working?

I had a couple of issues until I manually set the address of my camera in the router....and in the camera.....both are now set to the same address manually and I haven't had it drop since.....although my damn DSL modem had to be set to port forward to my router also.....good luck!

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

Sir.....what is the source of this information? If there is indeed information out there that factually proves I have a lemon I would love to get it, so maybe ASUS would exchange mine free of charge.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Well to think positive.... They have taken longer than they estimated at first so.....1. They could have found a major bug and could be fixing it. or 2. Could be adding to the feature set things that were promised but not delivered.....(this is just me guessing mind you)....Minor little bug...

    RT-AC87 Headache

I have this exact problem on the 5 GHz channel. No streaming due to random transfer drops. I can even copy a .iso file and watch it randomly drop from 40 MB/s to 0 then back up to 40. This happens at least 5 times during the copy. I have a very strong connection...great signal....surfs the...

    Asus RT-AC87R/U - FACTORY F/W Bug Thread

Sir, could it possibly be that you have a better router hardware wise? If I can plug it into the very spot my 66 was in and it has problems.....I doubt its my environment....I'm not the expert you are...and I don't have the money to throw down on every 300+ dollar router....but I think it should...

    Rt-AC87R 5ghz issue

you are not alone.....I have posted in a couple of threads......I can watch a transfer (server limited) of a 5 gig file go from 40MbS.....to 0....back up to 40 ten times in the two minute transfer. I have tried multiple adapters.... bridge 66u....everything...nothing helps......hopefully next...

    RT-AC87R Airplay Issues

I can't get it to stream anything across 5 GHz for any length of time....even copying a 4.7gig file....transfer rates randomly drop to zero then speed up six to seven times in the two minutes it takes to copy. Maybe just maybe they will fix this in the next firmware.

    Asus RT-AC87R/U - FACTORY F/W Bug Thread

I got these errors when a wireless device wanted to assign its own IP address....It went away when I allowed assigned addresses...and assigned it on the router side as well.

    RT-AC87U disconnecting on 2.4 and 5GHZ band

A few people including myself have this problem with the 5 GHz band. If I didn't have such good range with the 2.4 band I would have dumpstered this 300 dollar POS router....I think our only hope lies in a future firmware release. As for your problems with the 2.4 range I have heard of issues...
