Can you see the whole hard drive after samba update?
Yes, I can! :)

No problems with Samba on my two routers!

With kind regards
Joe :cool:

PS.: I am running version 51-Beta1 since today...

And I get people complaining about the exact opposite. So there's nothing more I can do but suggest going through the numerous recommendations previously mentionned, especially with the congested 2.4 GHz band.

Oh I wasn't complaining. Just stating an observation. I saw where a reset was not needed for this version but wondered if on the AC66 it was needed due to the driver being changed back to the previous version. Jury still out for me to see which was the most stable. 378.50 was pretty solid for me on the AC66.

I'm coming from 376.49_5 on an AC68P and I noticed that the option for USB3 speeds was removed. Does that mean it's been fixed in the newer builds, or are the newer builds permanently gimped to USB2.0 speeds?

Hi, i am currently using this build on a RT-AC68U, and each time i click on Traffic Analyzer i get kick out of the WUI and there is no way to access this interface until i reboot the router... It says unable to connect to page 192.168.1.1... if i don't click on it, then i am able to access the rest of the functions on the WUI.

is this an isolated case?

I can give you remote access to the router if you need to collect any logs or anything that lets you track down this error.

Ok lets try to fix the ps4 lag without turning off nat acceleration please?
Any advice on some settings to try??
on my lag test I do
dd-wrt = 3 - 3 1/2 seconds (4 seconds max)) great!
now asus or yours (nat acceleration on)I get 8 seconds!
as you see double.

What is this "lag test"? Without knowing how you're testing these numbers are meaningless.

Down the bottom of my first post, when I start the test I time it. Pretty simple.
Nothing is meaningless unless you do not ask!

Now I am running the official posted on the 87r side (newest one), and I am still testing it.
When I reboot the router with the official, my WAN gets auto connected with no problems BUT merlins like I said in my first post I have to hit apply in the WAN page for me to get a network connection.

I also found out I need to enable QOS, because without asus firmware puts video streaming before gaming and I get lag. So I activated it.

I also am still getting wifi loss, so I disabled beamforming for both bands and am testing that.

with openvpn client connected to a VPN service how should I test NAT loopback for proper functionality?

Thanks

Can't easily be tested, as routing becomes a bit wonky when a VPN client is involved.

Doubt it, since it's the same driver version, just recompiled with possibly some different power values by Asus. You might just want to delete the wireless profile on your client and reconnect again to ensure Windows didn't store any relevant lowlevel values that might cause issues with the driver build switch.

The option should still be there, it's shown for all the following models (the RT-AC68P is internally known as RT-AC68U_V2):

Code:
                if(     based_modelid == "RT-AC3200" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-N18U" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-N65U" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-AC69U" || based_modelid == "TM-AC1900" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-AC87U" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-AC55U" || based_modelid == "4G-AC55U" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-AC56S" || based_modelid == "RT-AC56U" ||
                        based_modelid == "RT-AC68U" || based_modelid == "RT-AC68U_V2" || based_modelid == "DSL-AC68U")
                {
                        inputCtrl(document.form.usb_usb3, 1);
                }

My AC87U is facing the same issue

You are correct. I forgot to change back to 2.4 on the wireless professional page. Thanks RMerlin

@RMerlin I noticed in github that you increased the rootfs size for the AC56U, does that have any CFE requirements? My AC56U's cfe version is 1.0.2.3.

Hi,

Thanks for a great firmware!

How can I set Channel 157 or similar for my Asus rt87u? I can only see Channel 112 in the GUI.

Regards,
Christian

I'm not sure how this is a valid "test" - that connection test relies on a lot of outside dependencies (Sony Entertainment Network's servers) which are finicky in their own right as it is. A few seconds of difference during a connection test doesn't mean much. Do you experience issues in online multiplayer games? If not, I'd suggest that what you're testing is irrelevant and you're looking for flaws that really don't exist in Asus/Merlin's firmwares.

model : RT-AC87R
firmware : 378.51_beta1

AiProtection - all off
QoS - off
firewall - off
nat loopback mode - merlin
uptime - 1 days 12 hours 7 minutes 9 seconds

Code:
Mar  2 02:00:15 rc_service: rc 3664:notify_rc restart_wrs
Mar  2 02:00:16 start_nat_rules: apply the nat_rules(/tmp/nat_rules_vlan2_vlan2)!

Finally, the problem seems to have been resolved.
nat loopback is working well. :)

thanks!

Try out the new Wireless Log page,

When connected with guest on wifi then RSSI show ( ? dbm) on both 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz.

Having the partition support up to 64 MB doesn't have any CFE requirement. I suspect that having the FW use above 32 MB doesn't either, since Asus busted the 32 MB limit with 378, and they never included any CFE upgrade in past firmwares.

You need to have a router for a region which allows that channel. If it offers 112 then your router is most likely for tne EU region.

This part of the Wireless Status information was lost after new Wireless Log page:

GUEST network clients are not reported on Tools tab.

3.
Also GUEST network is not showing clients RSSI values correctly (? dBm), that worked fine on the previous/original ASUS code:
