Only thing I have noticed is that the ad at the top of the page is not responsive and messes slightly with the mobile page. It also loads after the page which sometimes screws with auto-scrolling to latest unread post.
I'm aware of this and am investigating fixes. I agree it's annoying.

Font size looks normal here. The only thing with a larger font size was the announcement at the top, and you can dismiss the announcement once you've seen it by clicking on the X in the top right corner.

You're right. For whatever reason, when my mobile browsers send a 'desktop' useragent, i still get mobile. the mobile interface is definitely improved, but the lack of a desktop mode on mobile sucks for 480x800 devices since i can no longer zoom out before scrolling massive posts and code

Some responsive designs will determine the layout based on your screen size rather than the user agent. That was the case with one of the themes I was testing out for my website back in December - whenever I resized the browser window too small, it automatically switched to a mobile version of the site. It's possibly the same thing happening with XenForo.

If you are using chrome for android, the desktop mode is pretty hit or miss for many sites. To more reliably get desktop mode with it, you have to change the default user agent (need root access)

The one I use is

chrome --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1207.1 Safari/537.1"

I always try to avoid mobile sites, as it always feels like a lesser experience, e.g., some mobile sites will have fewer features (I don't mind ones which simply shift items around to better fit a screen).

I always avoid using small / handheld mobile devices for the same reason.

Fixed. :)

I'll trade 80% of the devices for a single 'real' computer every time. :)

Popularity is for school girls.

Function over form.

Many mobile browsers have gotten better at dealing with desktop websites. With smoother and more intuitive navigation around the page thanks to better scaling and zooming, other than having a stripped down site for when you only have like 100MB left on your data plan, desktop sites are preferable, even on small screens.

All of the other sites I go to that were using VBulletin had DDoS atacks recently and have now switched to XenForo.

lol

Are you yelling "get off my lawn!" yet? ;)

Tablets for fun, desktops for work.

On my Nexus 7 (2012) the new site is rather flawless and quick, which confuses me because most "pretty" sites run like crap on this device.

Tapatalk is pretty nifty.

Tapatalk: For when you're bored with your real friends and need to talk to your invisible / online ones. :D

I personally use it on the bus on my way home from work.

as my sister puts it, smartphones are your 'waiting in line device'

What! You don't randomly talk to strangers? :)

My MP3 player makes that kinda hard. :)

I do occasionally chit-chat with the occasional elderly lady who would ask for the bus schedule, then would start telling me about their life. I'm too polite to ignore them, being Canadian and all.

Are we (Canadians) too nice? lol...

I agree though, those little old ladies are hard to ignore and still be civil. :)
