Has anyone ever had a very bad experience with an Asus product or customer service?

I'm asking since I have read and seen videos of people hating on Asus for bad customer service and or defective products. Anyone have an experience like this before?

Nothing but great experiences here.

Same here. Whatever I have I take care of it myself.
Seldom need tech support. When talking about tech support
it is two way street, if a user says "it does not work, help me"
would not go far. Ever heard "dumb questions will just get dumb
looks on listener's face"?, LOL! I called tech support once for RMA
burnt out router. It just smoked in operation and went dead. They
shipped new one by express over night with return shipping label
for burnt one.

If you look again, you'll notice similar reports for every single brand out there.

Truth is, when you have hundred of thousands of customers, you are bound to have at least one customer somewhere who won't be satisfied. And this customer will be much louder on the Internet than the 99,999 others who didn't have any issue.

With my personal experience with numerous hardware product providers, I'd certainly rate Asus amongst the top of them in terms of hardware quality and support. I've seen Asus ask us to send them a workstation motherboard that was the wrong model (customer's fault for purchasing the wrong one), cross-flash it with a BIOS from the other model (yes, it was just a BIOS difference between the two models), and send it back to us to resolve the customer's issue. Another manufacturer would probably have said "sorry, not our problem your customer screwed up, and the board isn't defective."

As for general tech support, most manufacturers are equally bad IMHO. First level tech support rarely knows anything beyond "turn it off and back on". I lost any faith in these the day 3Com's tech support told me to defragment my hard disk to resolve an issue with a USB modem...

Never used their tech support, but I've been buying Asus for a really long time. It has been cool watching their products evolve. I remember when their motherboards used to die because the chipset fans would burn out. Then they figured out heat pipes and that stopped happening. I know if they keep at it, anything else they do will end up as good as their mainboards have been for a very long time.

I use three N66s in my network with the oldest being more than two years old. Never any problems with the hardware or the firmware requiring me to contact ASUS.
