New Around Here
Good day gents,

I have been using the N66U for a long time, almost since its release. But lately I have obtained multiple devices with support of WiFi AC (2 laptops,2 mobile phones and a media player PC).
I have tried some routers mainly from Linksys (E8350 and the EA6900) which though had awesome USB 3 support and AC capabilities they lacked on the WiFi range which is the most important aspect for me (Sold them both after 7 days of usage only).

I was wondering, which router out there has at least the same range the the infamous N66U with wireless AC and decent USB3 support?

Thanks

If you really need USB3 support, the RT-AC87U and the RT-AC3200 models are the Asus routers to consider, with the latter being the superior USB option (but arguably the worse wifi option, imo).

I would recommend forgetting about USB support period and plan on getting a proper NAS, and in the meantime, get an RT-AC87U that will continue in the steps of the once great 'N66U you have now, but with support for modern WiFi.

So the RT-87U/R has the same WiFi range as the N66U ?
What about the RT-AC68P?

I would say 'at least'. And in the 5GHz range, much more. For both models (the 'P' model simply has a faster processor).
