Can a NAS stream youtube video through wifi router?

Yes (I think) it can if you have one of the HDMI equipped models. Though, I don't see this as an important feature if you have any other type of computer available.

You mean act as a HTTP proxy? You might want to clarify what you want...
I am newbie to NAS. I will try to explain what actually I want.

I have TV in bedroom whereas wifi router kept in living room because optical fibre box is installed in living room only. Can NAS (HDMI equipped) connected with TV in bedroom catch the wifi signal from router kept in living area.

Your ISP may be able to install a drop in the bedroom where the TV is. Wired always works better than wireless.

Only if it is capable of adding a WiFi card in the NAS. What specific model do you have?

The wifi would be a slow connection for general NAS usage, but I have an xbmc box that works well with youtube even over wifi. I think qnap has xbmc and hdmi so if they allow xbmc plugins your only problem will be wifi (can always make a wifi bridge).

WiFi client bridge connected to NAS. Inferior to getting a cat5 cable direct to the NAS.
search newegg.com, amazon, etc. for WiFi client bridge products. NOT a WiFi repeater. NOT a WiFi range extender.
But try to run cat 5 cable to the NAS. Or put the NAS alongside the router.

Keep the NAS wired up next to your optical fibre box - have you considered something like the HP Stream Mini?

HDMI out, Windows 8.1Bing! - run plex on it and you're good to go... $180USD from the HP Online Store..
