Just installed 378.52_2 on my ac68U router, upgrading from 376.45. I reset to factory defaults.

NAT loopback isn't working as it did before.

I tried both Merlin and Asus loopback methods, but neither allow my server name to resolve locally.

The server is has a static dhcp lease, where the host name is defined.

Not sure what to try next (other than a /etc/hosts entry). I recall this being discussed previously, but a search didn't find much. Thanks.

If You don't use it, simple-disable this funcionality or sell advanced router and take one from Your ISP
Disabling is fine. It was not meant as criticism! I have this router for its speed in handling network traffic as I have a 400+Mbit connection. Most routers of ISP cannot even handle the provided speed.

RMerlin please could you look into print server code? Seems like it was broken a few releases ago. Maybe there were something related to printserver by Asus?
Sadly that nobody had noticed this but only now.

Here are some logs:

Checking monopoly mode does nothing, only restarting a router helps, and the printer goes to print tasks which were added before the reboot.

seems like unplugging and plugging back active printer also helps, this forces to get the idle status of printer... but why the print server gets stuck with the 'busy' status?

edited2: it's getting stuck even if just trying to send a new task to the printer when it was really busy with the previous printing, but idle now, for some reason it doesn't update the state to idle

RMerlin, i am not sure if it is a known issue or I'm just crazy but I am having trouble with setting up more than two authorized_keys in the ssh section. Up to two is fine, the trouble starts when I copy a third one into the gui box and hit Apply -> the router will get stuck in some loop (led cycling) and the only way I can recover is to restore the stock firmware -> factory reset -> merlin firmware again. Im using the ac87u with 378.52_2. Any suggestion would be welcome. Thanks

Have you tried upgrading to the latest Merlin build 378.53

I haven't tried that yet, I think first I will put back the stock firmware and see if it happens again. If it doesn't then maybe a bug in 378.52_2? I will give 378.53 a try when I get home.

Anyone successfully able to get dnscrypt-proxy working on 378.52_2? I followed the directions on github to a T and domains wont resolve. I hope to see full dnscrypt-proxy integration in the future like tomato. And @RMerlin go ahead and slim this baby down if you'd like, I dont mind if you kill off some features that cause bloat and or features that are broken ;)

There's a size limitation to that field, so you cannot put too many keys in there.

Solved: I had added my (OpenDNS) DNS servers in the LAN section rather than the WAN section.

RMerlin does this mean the traffic monitor tab will never work correctly on th RT-87U? Or individual traffic monitoring?

No idea. All I can say is that it currently doesn't work because of the RT-AC87U's internal architecture. That's something Asus would have to fix if it can be fixed.

Hi,

Finally I had some spare time this morning to upgrade my RT-AC87R router to this firmware from 378_52...(thank you for all your hard work Merlin!) it all seems to be working well but for some reason I can't enable IEEE 802.11h support setting under Wireless Professional -> 5 GHz band... any ideas?

Cheers,

Dragster

EDIT: I reseted the router to factory defaults and configured manually from scratch after upgrading the firmware.

I have the same issue. I can enable it, but it goes back to "disabled" after applying

Merlin in your change log in your test builds folder you mention this :
- NEW: Ad blocker based on Trend Micro's Web Reputation System (WRS). This is an EXPERIMENTAL feature implemented by Asus but that isn't enabled in the stock firmware.
My question is did you ad this Ad Blocker feature to RT-N66U or does it apply to one of the other Asus routers?

The Trend Micro engine is only available on the faster ARM models, which means AC56, AC68, AC87 and AC3200.
