So you have a completely different problem to tl2k2. Also, to be doubly clear, when you say "No Internet" do you mean no WAN, but the device can access the LAN normally, or are you connected to wifi, but cannot access anything, LAN or WAN. I don't have a magic answer either way, but I ask because both are problems some others have reported. Neither, however are seen by everyone, even with the same devices.

If you have LAN access, but not WAN, can you try pinging the router, your remote gateway (shown if you click on the WAN globe on the network map) and a more remote location, eg. 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS Server). If all of those work check your device's DNS servers and try doing a DNS lookup using those and using 8.8.8.8. If some of this works and some doesn't, try running the same tests from the router using it's network tools.

Hey guys,
I have a really annoying issue that came up recently. The router gets disconnected all of a sudden almost everyday once or twice and I have to reboot it to make it work again!
I'm using the latest v3.0.0.4.378_4950
Any help would be amazingly appreciated!
Thank you so much.
Cheers

Update your firmware to the last release: Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.5134

I'm seeing the same problem with a Galaxy S4.
Try this trick. Power down the phone, remove the battery and SD card (if installed) but leave the SIM card in place. Then press and hold the power button for at least 3 minutes. This does 2 things. First, it flushes system RAM completely. Second, it also clears all app cache. Re-install the battery & SD card (if used) and power up the phone. This works on my Galaxy Note 2 and IIRC it should work on any Galaxy model smartphone. You should notice that performance greatly improves, especially total boot-up time.

That thing won't clear the app cache. For that, you can do it manually through the app. manager or by using any tool such as clean master, plus cleaning cache and dalvik from the recovery mode of the phone.

Actually the best way to clear app cache is through the Android Recovery system. But I am sure that you already knew that. ;)

That's what I've said before as an option.

I thought that dalvik was a third-party app. My apologies & you learn something new each day. :)

I haven't had any issues with my iPad on 5GHz AC since the 4950 release and I've just installed 5134. I think that they have finally got this router to the point that it is fully compatible with everyone's equipment.

It is a great router.

I find the AIProtection important as I have so many different computers on my network which are often infected with malware and viruses so it gives me some peace of mind.

Certainly not experiencing that on my network. 5Ghz is still woeful on latest Apple devices. Works for awhile then Internet access will drop, local network is fine. 5GHz is OK with older iOS devices like iPhone 5S but problematic on iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iMac Retina, all AC devices.. The iMac waking from sleep, local network connectivity is fine but takes several minutes, typically about five, to establish WAN connection. Thinking of incorporating an Airport Extreme in my network mix to regain a reliable network. My problems are happening with either 5GHz beam forming on or off, plus many other combinations of settings I have experimented with.

It's all very weird, because (and sorry to those who have read this before) I have an iPhone 6, iPhone Air 2, Intel 7260 AC laptop and many other non-AC stuff besides, with 2 Ac87s (router and AP) on 378.4950 and the 2 AC87s have been up now for 30 days with, quite literally, flawless performance. Devices roam ideally between AP and router (same SSID). If they don't move they stay connected indefinitely (many days at least between moves for some). WAN always available. Could not be better.

After the upgrade for the 5134, my dlna server is not recognizing the entire contents of the hard drive connected to the router's USB, all content is ok from ftp, only a small amount of the content is displayed in dnla. Anyone else with this problem?

[Edited]
After downgrade for 4950 works fine again.

I've got the latest firmware and my iPad Air 2 has been working perfectly ok AC along with Surface Pro 3, Nokia 1520, MacBook Air and two Ethernet connected desktops, my Synology NAS and a few other assorted devices and a number of customer computers hooked up on my guest network.

No complaints but originally several months ago I had a lot of issues with the iPad.

I think they finally have it sorted.

Due to my consistent issues with Apple AC devices with this router I have now added an Airport Extreme in my network mix. It is connected by ethernet cable and setup in bridge mode. Working fantastically, no drop of Internet connectivity or speed, just an expensive exercise to get a decent functioning network, but all good now.

I do not know if the problem is related, but there's what happens:
My network has the following configuration: main router RT-AC87R> Repeater RT-AC66U> Netgear Extender EX6100. After setting up the EX 6100 using WPS RT-AC87R, smartphones I have asked the password for the home network all the time. If he left home and come back, need to put the password, turn off the device, need to put the password.
Does anyone know if this is related to the router or the android,
Thank you.

after 10 days of rocks solid performing with the latest firmware the 5ghz band decided to drop on me, completely disappear till i hard power button reboot it.

Installed 5134 and noticed "flaky" 5GHz behavior - weaker signal and random drops.
I went back to 4950 and it went back to normal.
RE-installed 5134 - same flaky behavior.
I went back to 4950 and there it will stay, until Asus comes out with a replacement for 5134.
