Big difference in overall wireless stability. Lately the 87R had been getting better via firmware updates, but the 3200 runs very well over 5ghz (2.4 I've had minor issues with). UpNp is working every time for me now flawlessly (had issues with PS4 via 87R).

Has anyone else made the jump too? What were your impressions?

Yes , the 3200 is stable , 24 days straight no drops , no reboots not one complaint from anyone about connection problems . All computers , tablets and phones are getting a great connection from anywhere in the house . Even the N clients are getting a better connection much higher connection speed and transfer rates have improved .Great router .

I buyed AC87U because has broadcom cpu and it's a good cpu.
This router can be flashed with: dd-wrt, asuswrt merlin, factory asus firmware.
In future should support: openwrt and tomato.
For m
e it's stable on my 500gbps (cable modem)
