seems just released today 2015/05/29
as it phased from beta 3.0.0.4.378.4850, so i updated my router with this one

and not sure why, aside from initial setup (factory default)
i cant change various things (like setting static ip), i cant even boot the router from admin webpage
when i apply setting -> it just loading... and stuck like that
where as normaly, after a apply setting -> it show loading a few secs before it telling the proggress

so power cycle the router, and still same
i tried to rollback to previous firmware, but same like above, it just stuck loading without showing any progres

anyone get same issue like me ?
for people thinking to update to this firmware, please be caution and download recovery tools beforehand

last 2 firmware (beta) and this one is really broken
not sure why they posting on site, even more with mentioning that "Japan only version"
asus need to fire those router programer... or they router went down hill, not because the hardware but it caused bad firmware programer

My update went fine, it is now that the new login authentication process doesn't let it remember my login credentials.

In the changelog it says this:
[Please note] This version changed the login username and password authentication method. After firmware updated, please press the reset button more than five seconds to reset the router to avoid some compatibility issues.

For other routers it says Japan Only. N66U and AC68U.

i think same for all asus routers
it said Japan only version

but the thing is, if there any different in japan ver. to the rest worldwide version
i think its more sense that asus make special page for that japan ver.
especially if the firmware is not work with the rest of N56U (other than japan ver.)

and its not wrong if user might think the firmware work with their router
except it might giving them japanese-language

anyway not matter what, making the router no longer applying setting is just fail

The firmware although right now is intended just for Japan, you can apply it without any problem to your device.
If you present any issue
-Apply firmware again (I know it doesn't make sense but it worked for me several times)
-Reboot your device once flashing finishes (on Chrome you're going to be told to, on IE you'll get the new authentication method)
-Wait router to start
-Do a hard reset
-Load your config manually (don't use any cfg file)

everything works fine for me with 3.0.0.4.378_6065 :) speed is also great as always

Ok, I tried it. Went from Padavan's to this. It went cleanly, but I could NOT get the media server nor the download master to install.

Actually I've never ever gotten the media server nor the download master to work with the Asus firmware. Which is why I've been using Padavan's ever since it came out.

i always restore factory default (clearing nvram) after flasing to new firmare
and also did power cycle just to make sure

anyway i tried again this new firmware
and find out that this new firmware only like Class C IP (192.168.*.*)
with previous firmware, i been using Class A IP (10.*.*.*) , and no problem with that

update:
tested with Class B range 172.16.*.* works ok.. so i think it only effect if i set LAN ip to 2digit IP
i did clear browser cache to make sure its not browser cache issue

update2:
ok, no matter what i do, i seems cant make the router work after i change LAN IP to 10.*.*.*
it just stop accepting command after it, even firmware update either factory default reset not working
(so only hard-reset button work)
well not that i need classA ip (using it for easy management, as it easy to remember)
but if anyone, or pro-modder here know how to fix or know what causing it, please share some info

this firmware also remove, prelisted few QoS setting preset
not that someone going to use it, but i always add playstation network& xbox line to QoS in there

imo the changelog need to mention more detailed changed, even less important/minor ones

25.47 MBytes update 2015/05/29

Thank you

Can confirm that if you try using 10.0.0.* as your local range, the web interface completely breaks again. I'm going to either get myself completely familiar with doing my things via telnet, or downgrade to whichever one worked with those IPs.
