Had a question regarding the VPN Server functionality given in the 374.41 Merlin build for RT-N66U ... I can connect to the VPN Server without any issues, but I cannot ping or Remote Desktop with any of the machines within that network .. However I can open the ASUS Router page, so that confirms that I'm successfully connected to the VPN .. Also if I google search 'what is my IP', I see the WAN IP of the VPN Server, not my own ... But how can I connect to the machine within the network ?

I'm using PPTP for the VPN Server ..

Recommend to use another flavor of VPN. Also recommend to upgrade to a more recent firmware version too.

Do a full reset to factory defaults and then manually and minimally configure the router to secure it and connect to your ISP.

did you look at the compatibility tab in your OpenVPN client icon? you need to set it to "run as administrator" or something along those lines

Hi ... Sorry for the late reply - I got busy with the some work so could not follow up on this issue ..

Anyways I'm still facing this problem so need suggestions ..

@L&LD, I can try to update to a more recent Merlin build, but I'd like to do that only as a last resort, as I have a lot of configurations already in place with this router (which controls 10 or so other routers in my hours, along with 30+ computers/servers/devices) ..

@jcy, I don't think that's valid for my issue because its an issue with the VPN Server itself running on the ASUS Router ..
