Hi together,

I hope somebody can help me. Iam using an AC-87U with merlin 378.55. AiProtection - DNS Filtering is configured that all unknown devices should use the Norton Children DNS Server, Devices which I know and manually configure in AIProtection should use the Norton Safe DNS Server.

1.) Problem is:
that still all Devices are able to open all sites unfiltert.

Second problem is:
that when DNS Filtering is turned on. Iam not more able to use DNS requests in my LAN. When I turn it off, Iam again able to reach my Device via DNS.

My WAN & LAN Config

NSLOOKUP w. DNS Filter turnded off

Does someone have an idea what I can do to solve my problems?

Best regards
Thermo

1) Restart the computer. If it had already resolved the website's IP, then that IP is still in the computer's own cache, so it never actually send a DNS lookup, and simply reuses the IP it knows. I just re-tested it here, and it's working properly for me.

2) This is normal, and mentionned in the documentation. Since you are forcing DNS queries to Norton's nameservers, those requests never reach the router's dnsmasq daemon.

I used ipconfig -flushdns to clear my cache and it didnt work..

I just dont use the DNSFilter.. I prefer to use the name Revolver ;)

Thanks for the help.
