Having an issue with a brand new TP-Link Archer c9 v1 whereby the front panel Internet indicator lamp turns from blue to orange to indicate trouble with the Internet connection. There are corresponding "LED controller" messages recorded in the SYSLOG. There was some S/N ratio issues with the Cox Cisco DPQ3212 cable modem that were resolved. A new Cat5e cable was installed. A factory reset was performed and the firmware was flashed to the latest non-beta version. The problem still exists. In fact, when it's occurring, you can set your watch by it because it occurs in 10 minute increments. There are no indications of trouble on the modem nor does the desktop PC indicate a dropped Internet connection.

Therefore, the router will be returned. The question is, should we specify that we want a c9 v2 this time? Thanks.

Sure, go ahead. I doubt they will intentionally honor your request.
My reason for asking was because the TP-Link tech support rep indicated that they could exchange it for a Version 2 model and I didn't know the performance differences, if any, between the two versions. However, at their website, download for the Version 2 firmware is still not available; only the product manuals. Nevertheless, we went back to the original vendor because TP-Link charges $12.99 for "advanced" replacement via ground.

Just looked around on the internet and what I found was that are no differences for the user between v1 and v2. There is a small difference in hardware, but it doesn't affect the user, according to what's out there.
