Something went wrong on my RT-AC3200. After the update I got no Internet connection and the router claims that WAN is diconnected. Rebooting and factory default settings don't help. Tried to revert back to 56_2 but its still the same.. My RT-AC68 works.

Upgraded my RT-AC66U.

No 5 GHz network according to my wireless devices; only 2.4?

The "control channel" is "auto" and the only other option is 0 (zero)?

Back to 378.56_2: 5 GHz works.

If reverting back to a previous firmware still has an issue then it's unrelated to the firmware. Try a factory default reset after you revert back to 56_2 (or restore any saved backup from that version).

Also don't forget that when swapping routers, many ISPs will require you to turn off their modem for 5-10 minutes to fully reset the connection, otherwise they will refuse to issue a second DHCP lease to the new router (due to the change in MAC).

I will leave it overnight with the ISP modem turned off and see if there is any change in the morning.

Everything was working, but right after upgrading to 57 Alpha 3 there was no Internet connection and it was reported as disconnected and doing the whole Internet setup it kept claiming there was nothing connected even though the WAN led and the port on the modem claims there to be connection.

I did try to factory restore on 57 Alpha 3 and that didn't change anything, so then I reverted back to 56_2 without any luck and then I did a factory restore on 56_2 and still nothing. So I decided to simply remove the RT-AC3200 and replace it with my RT-AC68 and then it worked right away with the same WAN cable that is not working with the RT-AC3200. I tried to reconnect the RT-AC3200 after being able to confirm that the connection was working with the RT-AC68 and still nothing on the RT-AC3200.

Seems like this RT-AC3200 refuses to work for me. I had the entire thing going into a boot loop after updating to the previous official firmware from Asus and it had to be replaced and now this..

This may not help but worth a shot and also this is off the top of my head but I believe under LAN settings there's a setting for aggressive or normal. For my ISP I have to have it on Normal or sometimes especially with an IP change (if internet service goes down for long or if modem is without power for too long my ISP assigns new IP) my internet will not come back on with aggressive turned on.

with new firmware after a reboot or event without a reboot after some time my mountes usb stick gets read only.
how could this be fixed? the stick is ok, already tried to recreate the partition (ext3 and ext4). even tried another one.

My rt-AC66U works great, turned on Dnssec too.
Do you use the 5 GHz band with any iOS devices? (my iOS devices don't see a 5 GHz network with 380.57a3; they do with 378.56_2)

What control channels are available? (I only had auto/0 in 380.57a3)

90% of my network is apple devices, all seem to work just fine.

i have a Auto,36,40,44,48,149153,157,161,165 channels available, mine is set to auto and channel 149.

i would reset the firmware back to factory defaults, then try again. i bet it will work fine.

Is anyone having issues with this build's uPnP? Xbox One NAT showing as Moderate instead of Open. It was working fine on 378.56_2

Thanks. This is also the instruction by RMerlin in the first post, so I'll put this on my todo-list.

Unfortunately I won't have time to test this this weekend; so it will have to wait until next week.

Found this on my own Windows logs today:
Code:
BITS has encountered an error communicating with an Internet Gateway Device. Please check that the device is functioning properly. BITS will not attempt to use this device until the next system reboot. Error code: 0x80072EFD.
I assume something on the miniupnpd upgrade done in cf98ac1 causes some issues. I will try a version compiled with said commit reverted to check what gives.

I opened a ticket with Thomas on it. I found out that reverting the UPNP version to 1.0 fixes the issue (Thomas bumped it to 2.0 in a recent update).

Merlin I got a question for you, with UPNP when ports are no longer being used for a period of time, shouldn't they close, and be ready when needed again? The reason I ask, is I have multiple gaming consoles in my home, like a lot of people do these days. However when looking at the System Log<->Port Forwarding, after these ports get opened, they stay open. As I can see them ports open right now, and it has probably been 12+ hours since some of the ports have been requested for use. I know this isn't really your thing, I know. But just kind of wanted your opinion on it, and how it should be working.

Depends on how your client requested the forward (could be through UPnP or NAT-PMP). Some will specify a duration, others won't. This is client-specific.

I confirm the isue with 5GHz channels on AC66U, even after factory reset, reflash.

All seems OK on AC68U.

I am using this build and the UPnP seems to be working fine
as well as the fw in general
