New Around Here
Hello everyone. Noob here. I was recommend here by someone on he Plex forums, and hope you can help.

I'm looking to improve my home network using a new router and some powerline adapters. What I'd really like is a bit of software that can test the quality of a connection between 2 devices. For example, currently Plex streams:
Computer --wifi--> router --wifi--> TV

My ideal solution seems to be:
Computer --Ethernet--> PLA node1 --E--> PLA "hub" --E--> router --E--> PLA "hub" --E--> PLA node2 --E--> TV

Is there any way to objectively test the quality of a computer to TV connection? If the quality/speed can be tested I can then fiddle about with different routers, wifi and PLAs to get the best result.

I don't mind paying for a good bit of software, so I'm not restricted to fee stuff.

Many thanks.

EDIT: I am running OS X.

All the powerline adapters will talk to each other. You need only one per Ethernet device.
