Hello All!

I know the ASUSWRT-Merlin has this ability, but after searching online and in the router itself, running the most current version for my RT-AC66U, I can not find where/how to enable this feature...and certainly I think
it makes a lot of sense to have the router take on this role. HELP! :)

Thank You!

Look under
"USB Application" & "Media Services and Servers" & "Network Place (Samba) Share / Cloud Disk"
and you will find what you are looking for!

"Force as Master Browser" & "Set as WINS server" are part of the Samba implementation.

Thanks for the feedback, MOST APPRECIATED!! I could have never thought to look under USB Applications.

Curious, do you also know how to prevent the router from showing up in the list of COMPUTERS? I am ok with it showing up under NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE. Just don't want to have it so out there and easily seen and possibly attempted to access.

Same place as indicated by joegreat; 'Enable Share'='Off'. :)

Thanks L&LD for the feedback. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the fix. It was OFF to start with, I just checked to confirm. I have looked all over, all of the categories and settings, probably just missing it, but would definitely like to get the routers out of the list of "computers" in my network. I have attached a couple of images to help out... Just let me know your thoughts, I'll try anything. :)

If you're a browser master, it means you must be visible, or otherwise nobody would be able to obtain the browser list from you. So that's normal.
