Hello everybody
I'm trying to find a way to flush my dns cache of my router without rebooting.. I googled around and I already tried via ssh these commands like
killall -1 dnsmasq

but it didn't work

i'm on RT-AC68U with 378.56_2

thanks for your suggestions

Don't forget that clients devices, and even some applications (web browsers for instance) also have their own cache.

i just executed that command and it kind of worked i mean from the console it says " done ".. still the website that should check that my dns have been changed say they have not.. but the latter may be broken.
is there a way to check if my dns have been actually updated?
thank you!

Use dig or nslookup?

Can you explain more about what you are doing and what you are trying to achieve? Is this something to do with Dynamic DNS?

I fixed it! i had to disable the dns filtering that was set to " commodo" and i switched to router mode.
but i have no idea why this was preventing my wan settings to work properly.
can anyone explain please?
an other question, is there a way to have only " selected devices " use those dns instead of the entire network?
thank you!

You're talking about AIProtection> Parental Controls>DNS Filtering?

In the 3 Custom DNS boxes below Global Filter Mode you can specify the IP address of any custom DNS servers you might want to use, and then in the Client list at the bottom, you point the client of your choice to the relevant custom DNS server, thereby making an exception to the Global Mode. Another great feature.

As for why Comodo objected, perhaps the server hosting the IP address is also host to some malicious websites or perhaps Comodo sees the IP address itself as a malicios site? (Your tvunblock is "absolutely free"......... )

By the way, well done for sorting it, and for the feedback.

It was doing exactly what you told it to do. By setting the Global Filter to Comodo you are forcing all clients to use Comodo's DNS servers instead of the routers WAN DNS (as explained on that page).
