[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Upgraded all my 3 routers to 384.13 and finally enabled AiMesh. Got very low speeds at first, and then i realised i have to set my nodes to wired instead of automatically (which went on wireless). But even then, my DL & UL speed on the nodes were about 50-60% lower than i had before. What am i...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 is now available

Hello! I am trying on both my AC86U to upgrade from 384.9 to 384.10, but nothing happens. Is there a special way to flash the firmware lately? It always worked by simply updating firmware... Also, can i use a save config from 384.9 to 384.10? I have tons of DHCP, and it would take me days to...

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-merlin 384.4 Beta is now available

Hi RMerlin! Regarding the problem in here, can anything be done to solve the issue? I have updated one of my AC86U routers to 384.4 Beta but it didn't helped. For now, AC87U and AC68U is showing all the clients in Network Map with their names and manufacturer icons, while AC86U doesn't, and...

No clients names in Network Map

I have updated one of my AC86U routers to 384.4 Beta1. Unfortunately, no fix. So, for now, AC87U and AC68U is showing all the clients in Network Map with their names and manufacturer icons, while AC86U doesn't, and only shows the MAC's. Except for other Asus routers. One more thing i have...

No clients names in Network Map

Well, i have double checked in the meantime, and i think it's only related to the firmware for AC86U. I have now 2 x AC86U routers installed in my house, and one AC68U. All of them are using the latest 384.3 firmware. On both AC86U, i see all my whole 28 clients in the network with MAC address...

No clients names in Network Map

Well, i guess it's time for more of us to raise the problem report, until they fix it! :)

No clients names in Network Map

I think there is a bug somewhere, or i might need to set something (like WINS Server), because sometimes i can see a computer/device name shown instead of just MAC numbers...

No clients names in Network Map

Hi everyone! I just upgraded my Asus RT-AC87U to an Asus RT-AC86U. As i was used to Asuswrt-Merlin (for a few years now), i have installed the latest one on the new router (384.3 version). Although i have entered in my DHCP server manually my LAN devices, in the Network MAP, i can only see the...

Reset the WiFi settings to default

Hello everyone! Does anyone know if there is a posibility to reset all the WiFi settings (for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) to default, without changing anything else to router settings? I need to do that as i was playing a lot in the past months with the WiFi settings trying to get the best, but now...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

I never had issues with my "old" AC66U and Nexus 7 2013... Anyway, i fixed the problem for the Nexus 7. I will post it here, in case somebody else gets in the same trouble. Thx fix is actually funny, as it has nothing to do with the 5Ghz band. I switched my 2.4Ghz channel from Auto to 2...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

The router with this issue is an Asus AC68U. I just did a factory default reset, to be sure. Some devices still can't see the 5Ghz wireless. Strange thing is, when i do a scan on them, the results vary. For example: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - can see the 5Ghz network and connect without issues...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

Hmm, seems like this is my bad day. Found another issue: My PC (Gigabyte GC-WB300D with Atheros AR5BWB222) can't see the 5Ghz anymore. Also, my Nexus 7 2013 doesn't see the 5Ghz wireless. But everything else does (iPhone 6, Note 3), so it's not like the 5Ghz is completelly dead... Is there...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

One more thing that i have found to be akward in the last build: WAN - DDNS refresh interval. It can only be setup for days, which seems to be a little too much. Is it possible to customize this and set it up for hours - maybe in the next version? Or maybe force a refresh everytime you reconnect...

Looking for feedback: PPPoE and poor WAN performance

You might be right, but i don't think it's ISP specific, as on AC66U it works even after i clone my PC MAC...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

Well, i found the major bug that caused the AC68U to drop speeds from 700Mbps to arround 300Mbps. You will not gonna believe where the culprit was! It's the damn MAC Clone (from WAN Menu - MAC Address - MAC Clone). If i set to clone my PC MAC, it saves the settings and everything goes down (upto...

Looking for feedback: PPPoE and poor WAN performance

Isn't AC87U also driven by Quantenna? Although it also have a Broadcom BCM4360, i understood that one is only controlling the 2.4Ghz, while Quantenna is doing all the routing part, the WAN/LAN, USB & the 5Ghz. Am i right? Did anyone in here tested AC87U on PPPoE?

Looking for feedback: PPPoE and poor WAN performance

What other high end router do you recommend? Is there anything else but Broadcom (on AC1900 and higher routers)?

Looking for feedback: PPPoE and poor WAN performance

I guess you realize that would be a waste of time as i just said that on the same NIC (with latest Intel drivers), i am getting DL speeds over 700Mbps with AC66U, while AC68U can't do not even half. Also, with N56U, on the same NIC and settings, i get even arround 800Mbps. Anyway, i solved the...
