    The base firmware will probably be fine for what you are doing. As far as I know there are no plugins but you can install Entware package manager. not sure if these instructions are up to date but they worked for me a few months ago. https://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/wiki/HowToConfigureEntware

    the difference is the Linux kernel that is used 3.0.3 vs 3.4.3. Does anyone happen to know why Padavan went back to 3.0.3 from 3.4.3?

    the difference between them is what extra features are included. There is a txt file for each build that will explain what features are included and excluded in that particular build. The "base" build is probably fine for your intended use.

    its working perfectly the only problem is that the mvps host file is blocking some stuff I dont want blocked so ill have to make my own host file and put it up on dropbox or something.

    20-30Mbps seems pretty good for an RT-N10U running in G/N mixed mode at 20mhz with a bridge. What kind of speeds are you expecting?

    i use Firefox with Adblock+ on my PCs and it works great but in the last few years I find myself doing the majority of my web browsing on my Ipad and since Apple wont allow us to do adblocking in Safari i think adblocking on the router would be a great alternative. People seem to be doing it...

    I'm beginning to think that maybe it's just not possible to do on the Padavan firmware otherwise I think someone would have done it by now. Maybe I'll just have to upgrade to a router that supports Merlin's software. Ad free web browsing in my iOS devices would be great!
