[TUTORIAL] Installing Rtorrent on AsusWrt Merlin routers through Entware

rtorrent seemed a bit more snappy but in my opinion allowing it to go over 1MB/s and the performance difference between it and transmission doesn't make using it any better. This is based on a 2MB/s Download with 10 peers. It started digging into my swap at around 1.5 MB/s.. Still is a very...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 is out

After the router reboots. I turn the internet connection off for about 10 seconds and turn it back on. That's how I have to get my ipv6 from comcast every time. Try that.

    How to maximize LAN performance?

There are quite a few factors but you're getting speed that's pretty good for 54g. I use a wireless g router as a client to my 66u and my speed varies from around 2.5 to 3MB/s. It really depends on my neighbors wireless interference since my speed is the fastest at night when no ones obviously...

    Bandwidth limits.

That's just the case in my house. No cable tv but we use netflix. I'm talking about streaming whole series at a time. If you read that sentence. You'll see that it might in their eyes justify the bandwidth limit to keep people from doing just that. It's probably a way to get people to purchase...

    Bandwidth limits.

Speeds are different based on location. That's why you have to put in your area code before you can even see what speeds you're getting. They just advertise the plan names. I'm actually on performance. I'm located about 50 miles from Atlanta Georgia. My area didn't actually get access to 1 teir...

    Bandwidth limits.

I didn't see it when I went over the limit last month, but a lot of people are complaining on the comcast forums about their browsers being hijacked by comcast letting them know their getting close to the limit and again once you reach the limit. Apparently no one can use web browsers until who...

    Bandwidth limits.

Yeah I seen the 250 gig data cap for a couple years. This is different. This started last month. Here is part of the email I received. Needless to say. The only choices I have are Comcast and AT&T and I would go with out internet before I went back to AT&T. The price and instability...

    Bandwidth limits.

I need some help. Comcast recently started a bandwidth limit trial in my area. They allow you to go over your bandwidth limit 3 times in a year and of course the first month the limit is in place I went over by 65 gigabytes. That's 20 extra bucks on my bill already if it weren't for the...

    RT-AC66U - 3.0.0.4.374.35_4, DHCP flood

Does the router that's in bridge mode have your main router set as the gateway and dns server? Sometimes if you leave those fields blank or default they can cause behavior like that when in bridge mode.

    syslog on jffs

I was actually getting on here today to ask about that. After I read this post last night and checked my jffs partition and I didn't see a syslog file on there. You already answered my question with that post. Thanks~

Glad it's working now. Let us know if you run into the problem again.

    N-Only Problem on RT-N66U

If you have wireless protection set on anything other than WPA2 it will default to wireless G. This also applies to any guest networks you have setup. If you have anything other than WPA2 setup on those, it will default all wireless to "g". That seems like it may be what you're experiencing...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

I think there is a version of merlins firmware that has the fix checkbox but still using the older driver. So the fix isn't actually in the firmware. I can't tell you which version to get with the fix, but I think that may be what the problem is for you. Hopefully some one else can chime in and...

    [HOW-TO] ownCloud on Router

I'm gonna make a guess and say that it's probably the platform it's being installed on. It's being installed through entware for the mips architecture. Like most other things being installed through opt/entware, you're not going to see any kind of official support. So that documentation doesn't...

    RT-N66U Issues

That's most likely power saving. Unless you're actually transferring something, the link speeds usually do drop considerably. You could do a 2 way transfer and watch the link speeds to see if there is actually something wrong or if it's just idling down to a lower speed to save power.

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

I wouldn't let the marketplace hold any basis on network performance. At least around here downloading anything from xbox live can vary greatly. Most of the time you're lucky to get 600KBps when downloading from there. The best way to test your connection is to run the Media Center tuning wizard...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

As long as the xbox option is checked in wireless settings, my xbox slim connects at it's full 72 Mbps connection and has streamed upwards of 3-4 MBytes persec. bandwidth. My brothers xbox and a friend of his also functions properly now. It's weird that you're still having problems with...

    Best Firmware for RT-N66U?

It was almost fun reading about your experience lol. Of course I'm sorry about your problems but I did like how you justified taking back a bricked router lol.. Anyhoo, I've been wanting to put DD-WRT on my router to see how it's shaping up on this model. But I look forward to seeing how it...
