    GT-AXE16000 Owner's Thread

When I have RMerlin FW installed and I go to the Administration page and check for FW updates, is it checking for new RMerlin FW or new, stock Asus FW?

    GT-AXE16000 Owner's Thread

Got it from Amazon. Not sure what their policies are, but usually when I've received something defective or broken they've sent a replacement out right away while also sending me a return label to send the defective / broken thing back. With this router they sent me a return label and could...

    GT-AXE16000 Owner's Thread

Got my AXE16000 today. When I took it out of its box, the first thing I heard was what sounds like a piece of metal, loose and rolling around / jiggling around inside the thing. It's been working kind of erratically since setting it up. Sometimes the SSIDs will just disappear for minutes then...

What could cause things to run so slowly?

I have a similar unit (Technicolor CGM4141) for Cox "gigablast" service. I have it in bridge mode to my AX86U. I wish I could using something better like the Arris S33 or Netgear CAX80, but the head of household refuses to give up land-line phone service so we're stuck with this modem.

What could cause things to run so slowly?

I may try to update to Merlin firmware the way you did, but for now the issue is gone after having Cox replace my modem.

What could cause things to run so slowly?

I don't know if anything was actively downloading, but we do have 50+ devices on our network. Maybe a third of them are IoT devices. The rest are TVs, computers, tablets and smartphones. We've been noticing though that wired speeds have been slow for some of our Smart TVs. Apps. will crash...

Weird issue with Asus Routers after initial configuration. Connection to internet stops working and cannot get router's WebUI using its assigned IP.

It didn't change anything. What did "fix" it though (for now at least) was another factory reset, followed by setting the AX86U up with the Asus app. on my phone to get it up and running. Once it had a working connection (my PC could get out to the world) I then got into the webUI and...

Weird issue with Asus Routers after initial configuration. Connection to internet stops working and cannot get router's WebUI using its assigned IP.

Weird issue with Asus Routers after initial configuration. Connection to internet stops working and cannot get router's WebUI using its assigned IP.

Habit then I guess. In any case, I used the "Factory Default" option in the "Restore/Save/Upload Setting" of the Administration page. The Cox modem / router is properly setup in bridge mode. Its IP is set to 192.168.1.1 and it works perfectly with all of my other routers.

Weird issue with Asus Routers after initial configuration. Connection to internet stops working and cannot get router's WebUI using its assigned IP.

So I had a GT-AX11000 for a few days. Spent some time setting it up and had an issue. What I did: - connect the AX11000 to my laptop's ethernet port - configure settings to what I need - set AX11000 to 192.168.0.1 and Cox modem / router to 192.168.1.1 - add ~20 devices to reserved IP list -...

    ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000

Could it also have to do with Apple's devices just performing better with certain wifi chipsets over others (ie. Qualcomm vs. Broadcom based routers)?

    ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000

I've gone through several units this year: Netgear RAX200, Asus 89X, Ubiquiti Dream Machine, my internet provider's router (Cox "Panoramic" router). Was happiest with the Asus stock firmware, but performance-wise happiest with the Netgear RAX200. In my house / environment it had the best...

    ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000

Possibly off-topic, but for now and even into the next two years wouldn't two 5GHz radios (AX11000) be more useful for most people than one 5GHz radio and one 6GHz radio (AXE11000)? Unless of course one will be getting two or more AXE11000 units to use the 6GHz as a wireless back-haul b/w the units.

    RT-AX89X

The mention of NTFS / a storage file system kind of tipped it off to being related to a storage device.
