    Linksys WRT320N Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router Reviewed

I just bought this router to use with a 24Mbps (19.5Mbps Real Throughput) internet connection. I loaded on dd-wrt, however don't have any extra services aside from dhcp enabled. And the cpu maxes out when WAN > WLAN approaches 13Mbps, anybody know the reason for this? I've tried with a...

Wireless IP camera for the condo

What's your definition of decent? Which features do you absolutely need? I have yet to find a good wireless ip camera under $200 which is anything other than gimick. If in good lighting conditions you simply want to know that someone is breaking into you your house and not be able to identify...

    Home or Office?

Hi, I'm not sure this is the correct section of the forum... but i'll shoot anyway.... I was wondering in which location do people require help with their network/nas? i.e. When you ask questions on this forum, which location are you referring to? From browsing arround this forum it...

    Freenas on NAS Enclosure

There are a few companies which offer solutions for this. A while back I was taking a look at: http://www.tranquilpc-shop.co.uk/ There's also the option of building a mini-ITX system yourself.

    Bit torrent router optimization

Do you mean 20kbps or 20kBps (160kbps)? - I assume it's the latter. If you do infact mean 20kbps... then you would benafit greatly from increasing that ammount. As you approach the upper limit of an internet connection with a low number of concurrent connections; speeds can start to become...

    Mapping My Documents

If you want centrally stored user accounts...obviously win2k8 is the way. However I'm guessing you just want the user's files to be stored centrally... not the settings or anything. With XP it was simple; just change the location of the My Documents folder to a folder on the network drive...

    Favorite: Synology DS108J

Yeh, I haven't actually experienced too many bugs with synology products. Are you using the latest firmware? Also... the DD-108j isn't particularly powerfull...so if you run many things simultaneoulsy on it, or it's accessed by a large number of users then you may experience some crashes...

    NAS/Backup solution

If you purchase a 4bay nas...you will also need to purchase more disks or nas for backup. If budget is a concern, then go for a 2 bay nas. Using rsync you can also backup your synology nas to an external usb or esata drive. I'd go with jbod if I was you...if any disk in your raid0 array...

    NAS/Backup solution

If you've installed rsync on your dns-323 this is possible. Rsync is part of the funplug package and can easily be installed, see: http://wiki.dns323.info/howto:fun_plug#transfer_using_ftp

    Nas with some important features

The synology one is my recommendation since i've had only good experiences with their products. For backup you can use either a usb drive, an esata drive, or another nas. However, i think usb or eSata is the best solution for home use. Simply plug in an external hard drive and shedule...

    Small Business Central Storage

Repurposing an old xp machine would be the most flexible solution. If you still want to use exchange but don't want an in-house server you can always use an exchange service provider....of which there are many. Alternatively there are various outlook syncing programs about which are ok for...

Best NAS for my marketing business with 10 employees?

Your system sounds pretty old, its likely most nas you purchase today will outpreform what you already have. In terms of reliability... sata should fine for this situation, scsi and sas drives become more important when you have high i/o operations/sec 24/7. However whichever hardware you go...

    Reorganizing my home network. Suggestions?

Are you able to stick your router in your room and put a wireless AP (+ possible a switch in the living room?) - Can be done with just one powerline adapter. Although its possible Lan and Wan together is un-necisarily jumbling things up and will likely cause a headache. Homeplug AV devices...

    Reorganizing my home network. Suggestions?

I believe it will not work over powerline either.... unless you have 2 separate adapters (which support multiple signals on a single power ring). If these were two lan devices you could use a switch at either end, but the fact that one is your wan rather complicates things. How come you...

    Streamlining FTP + NAS

I think deltacopy should be able to do the syncing part... you can set it to not delete files from server. http://www.aboutmyip.com/AboutMyXApp/DeltaCopy.jsp As for the unrar part, i'm not too sure in windows...however its likely some auto-unrar programs do exist. I know there is one for...
