High ping - Error on router or ISP?

Update: It may be that my network card is bad. I remember seeing a few weeks a go that I got a 'General failure' when pinging router during a gaming session. On Intel I211 I've completed 3 ranked games of Overwatch without any disconnects after switching to Intel I219-V

High ping - Error on router or ISP?

I've never seen CPU higher than 20% on the web GUI, but ill continue to check it out while gaming now. Ill also run a continuous ping and pingplotter to the Overwatch EU servers to see if there are any spikes in there if I get disconnected. Battle.net looking glass result - Blizzard diagnostic...

High ping - Error on router or ISP?

Result from pingplotting towards google.com. Could it be the package loss to the Swedish server I see there? As far as I know all these settings are default, there is no need to setup anything towards my ISP. Modem from ISP is in bridge mode, and AC86U acts as router. All settings are...

High ping - Error on router or ISP?

I am having issues when gaming, namely that I am disconnected from game servers in Overwatch. Really inconvenient. - Can someone help me troubleshoot? - 1) Can this be due to faulty firmware installation (clearing nvram) or - 2) can it be blamed on my ISP? - 3) can it be due my old wired...

Force IP from AC86U over windows static ip?

My headless server is placed on the attic with only power and ethernet, it has a old static IP assigned from within windows, so it now faults to a 169.254.xxx.xxx IP witch is the wrong subnet. Afaik this is how windows handles static ip's that are invalid and cannot get a response from the...

There was an error with my modem from my ISP, so they did a reset and all of a sudden; 1 gigabyte WAN connection . I just dont understand it, I tried connecting laptop to router over the same wan cable and only got 100 Mbps. The only thing I can think of is that it takes some time for the AC86...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.12 is now available

I have a strange issue, that may be no fault of the 384.12 firmware, but bear with me non the less. We recently moved into a new house, and to my amazement the previous owner has installed networking cables in the walls. One from the fiber modem to the attic (router placed here), then down to...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.12 is now available

I mistankely dipped my toes into mesh networking with the google wifi a year or so ago, coming from a single Asus RT-N66U. I did get better coverage with the Google wifi, but port forwarding has never been working. Now I got a chance to get rid of the gwifi and finally can tinker with a Asus...

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 is available

I am considering getting a AC-86u. Is it as simple as downloading the most recent firmware and flashing said file from computer? Or does it require a specific asus firmware before I flash the first time?

Google Wifi - Port forwarding issues

This is actually comforting to know, yesterday I asked if this was a common issue, that simple port forwarding from computers didn't work. I was assured that computers was the simplest devices to port forward and that this issue wasnt common. Its actually nice to know. Yes, id prefer to have...

Google Wifi - Port forwarding issues

updating this if someone stumbles upon it in the future. Just had an hour long talk with google support, and they tested whatever they could from their end. To no avail. I have no idea of what it can be at this point, neither had them. I cannot understand if this is something other than the...
