    Chime or Luma

I currently have asus RT-AC68U with 2 AC66U as access points for house and yard coverage. I've been getting bombarded with emails from Chime and Luma with their mesh networks. Anybody else looking at these?

    RT-AC68U DHCP limitations

Know this is a 'home' class router, but I was wondering if anyone out there has the DHCP server supporting 2048 clients. This is for our township recreation center and the router supplied by Comcast just plain sucks.

    Rt-ac68u

Used InSSIDer when they are both running concurrently they use different channels. Doing the testing I used channel 1 (oddly only 1 cochannel) and 157 and had the opposite device powered down.

    Rt-ac68u

Netgear I had issues with the Netgear in that once I got Directv's Nomad, the Mac computers would sometimes find their time machine backups on a WD Worldbook and 2 MyBookLives. Not sure why Nomad made such a traffic increase but the AC68 handles it without a drop. My only complaint is to...

    Rt-ac68u

2.4 Ghz performance I have an RT-AC66U as an access point and the RT-AC68U. The 2.4 from the 68 is much stronger performance wise and distance than the 66. But on 5GHz, I'm seeing the opposite. Signal degrades faster the same distance away on the 68. The settings for wifi are the same on...

    Netgear WNDR3700v2 question

genie I'm seeing very irregular ping times after the upgrade to the Genie firmware. Netgear doesn't have 1.0.0.36 on their website anymore for the 3700v2. Browsing the network takes forever. Wondering if the overhead of the new firmware is too much for the processor to handle. We have...

    Configuration lost on Power outage

I've tried several builds but when our power goes out, I get the dreaded - "Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh. Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-AC66U. To access the settings of RT-AC66U, reconnect to the wireless...

Locating the WAP in a new house

Advice I use two Asus RT-AC66. One as a wired AP one as a router. Both have the same SSIDs but different channels. Hopefully you have an android phone that you can look at the channels for strength. Otherwise use inSSIDer on a PC. My biggest frustration has been neighbors that have...

    Rt-ac66u $99.95

I posted this in the deals section but it has to be a mistake http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?SID=F012DA1111C326792C0A00326792C598A10A0A0&is=REG&Q=&PID=227502&A=details&AID=10654978&O=productlist&sku=903319 I ordered a couple for Christmas presents for my relatives. :)

    AC66u and Android Problems

Turning advanced interference management helped the Thunderbolt and got much better with .260 firmware. I used inSSIDer with the Netgear USB AC adapter and my reliable Asus USB-n53 with multiple i7 laptops from Lenovo, HP, and Sony. Saw random power drop offs on 2.4 but not 5.0. Very odd.

Help choosing the right ASUS router for a busy house?

We have 40+ devices on an RT-A66U (N only) - 4 of which have the Netgear USB AC adapters. We have our old router as an access point for 6 Sony Dashes and anything legacy B/G). I used InSSIDer to see what channels were the best for our router in our development. Now if we could just get...

    AC66u and Android Problems

Enhanced Interference Management is currently set to enabled - should it be off? My thunderbolt has the worst time, drops back to being connected to the N56 we use as a router (different SSID). But the thunderbolt WiFi support sucks anyhow.

    N66U or Netgear R6300

With out a doubt the N66U. To take advantage of either router, eliminate b/g compatibility on the new router by possibly setting up the DIR-655 as an AP for those devices. We have 6 Sony Dashes so we set the old router for this purpose

N56 or N66 for personal care home

Thanks Jeremy, wish there was some kind of wall mounting bracket for the N66/AC66 that would position the unit 3-5 inches away from the wall for better air flow. Wasn't even thinking about the Verizon wireless 3g network extender being an issue. On other routers it was just opening VPN ports.

N56 or N66 for personal care home

My father is in a small personal care home (less than 45 people). The building is 3 floors (basement, 1 and 2) and less than 120 feet long by 60 wide. Its standard hotel construction. They currently have a Netgear 3500 located in the office located in the center of the first floor...

    AC66u and Android Problems

I also have this issue using the AC66 as an access point. Luckily I have the old Netgear at a different SSID as a standby. I was fine on .220, but I decided to go to .246. I went back to .220 but the problem didn't go away, went back to .246 oddly, Ipads at 5.0GHz aren't impacted, just 2.4...

    ASUS Introductions

Thanks Jeremy for being on the forum. I have 2 requests from asus. The first is with wireless connections, It would help out if the connection mode was a sortable field when listing attached devices. This would help me identify and weed out the old stuff. Second, I would like a...

    Asus RT-AC66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.164

Powers settings I don't like the logic of how these are layered within the menus. There also seems to be an issue with the Auto channel as it picks the busiest one in the neighborhood
