Looks like this is officially released now:

    AC68U vs AC3100 vs AC86U wifi testing

I'm not sure how much the CPU clock actually effects performance, but also keep in mind the the RT-AC68u and possibly others have had mid life product refreshes. For example, the current version RT-AC68U (b2 stepping) actually has 1400Mhz core clock.

    AC68U vs AC3100 vs AC86U wifi testing

Would you mind posting the hardware revision of the RT-AC68U used for testing? I am wondering if this is representative of current generation RT-AC68U, or more representative of the earlier hardware revisions.

Can you guys explain Home Plug and how it would work with my set up?

Moca is passing network data over a a coaxial cable (tv cable). HomePlug/PowerLine is passing network data over an electrical wire. In both cases you need an adapter on each end of the connection. The first one converts the ethernet signal to a signal that is better suited for the medium...

Using a router as wireless access point - slow speed

Did you try the suggestion from 'overdrive31' ? If the RT-N66U is set to 40 Mhz, it will conflict with the Billion on channel 6. You'd want to move the Billion to channel 11, or set the RT-n66u to only 20Mhz mode.

Using a router as wireless access point - slow speed

Have you tested the wired speed from a lan port on the AP ?

Poor wireless do I need MOCA

Do you mean wired with coaxial cable, or did you mean you actually already have a moca network running on said cables?

    ASUS RT-N66U as a bridge

This should walk you through it: http://support.asus.com/FAQ/Detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&no=1862EC3A-F59E-6A44-9182-C513B58F5B89&p=11&m=RT-N66U%20%28VER.B1%29

need for speed - streaming HD vod

So you are using the wired ports on the RT-N66U? Looks like everything should be running gigabit speeds. Even if they were only running 100Mbit due to cabling you'd be ok. Are you sure you disabled the wifi in the Sony unit and you are using the wired connection? Can you get a good stream to...

Using cheap DirecTV DECA adapters instead of expensive MOCA gear

Since I haven't seen it mentioned here too much, I just wanted to write a quick post about a recent success story getting my sisters detached garage wired up cheaply using DECA adapters. Her wifi was not reaching a detached garage she had converted into a studio apartment/guest house. We tried...

Passing LAN DHCP to Wireless Clients in AP Mode?

It should work just fine with the network cable plugged into a LAN port on the router. What is your routers LAN IP? Did you remember to assign it a static IP outside of your DHCP pool range?

N66U vs AC66U test results with 354 firmware and USB-AC53

Curious, what are you're 2.4Ghz channel width settings? 40 or 20? I assume you will be posting the results for the AC66U later?

I have 50mb down internet service. Will a dual N modem get me that on a speedtest?

Did you try what the comment at of that link said? Other than that, your easiest solution would probably be just to return the router and get the one your neighbor has.

    Syslog

The two logs appear to be from different fimrware versions. I wouldn't expect them to match..

I have 50mb down internet service. Will a dual N modem get me that on a speedtest?

If you want to use speedtest.net from the iphone, just download the app from the app store. It doesnt use flash. It seems pretty clear at this point it is the wifi is the issue. So lets back up to the basics here. Have you made sure: 1) you are on a clear channel with no competing networks...

I have 50mb down internet service. Will a dual N modem get me that on a speedtest?

According to this link, the Ipad 3 has only one stream 20Mhz capability. This would limit it to a max of 65Mbps link rate. Reality is you are probably not getting that link rate and real world performance is always lower than link rate anyway. So the Ipad 3's wifi would be the limiting factor.

ASUSWRT Dashboard - Some pages partly inaccessible

Yes. To explain more fully: You will need to look at the Asus DHCP server settings. You most likely wont have to change anything on it. The Asus DHCP server will be configured to give out a certain range (Ex: 192.168.1.50-150). Any other LAN IP other than the Asus's own LAN IP (Ex...

ASUSWRT Dashboard - Some pages partly inaccessible

Sounds likes you were connected with a single stream 40Mhz wide channel. Have you set the 2.4Ghz channel width to 40Mhz on the Asus unit too? Note that if you set both to 40Mhz, you will have overlapping channels between the 2 that will cause interference with each other and may reduce actual...
