Client list and DHCP assignment problem

Thanks, Morris. I didn't realize it's a well known problem. In the 10-15 years I've been using one Asus router or another (generally with Merlin firmware) it had not come up. But, not, it's not that critical -- I've worked around the problems. Thanks for the reply.

Client list and DHCP assignment problem

OK, the symptoms were true, but missing the point. I also just noticed that the same thing happens when I connect to a 1gbps socket. Further, the system is not pingable from other computers on the LAN. Yes, it's marked as a private network and the same behavior occurs if I disable the firewall...

Client list and DHCP assignment problem

I upgraded to a new motherboard with an Intel i225-v 2.5gbps chip (Gigabyte Aorus x570s Master). I've connected it to the 2.5gbps port of my GT-AX11000 running Asuswrt Merlin 388.1. It connects nicely at 2.5gbps. However, there are some oddities: Hovering over the 2.6g port icon on the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

So, try as I may, and after trying both 386.2alpha and, now 386.1_2 release, as well as the related ASUS 9.9.9.4_386 release, this release is still FUBAR. Literally every other time I hit the "apply" key to make any change whatsoever -- latest being to enable and then disable MAC filtering -- my...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Yes, after the initial upgrade crapped out, I used the emergency flash to restore last year's firmware, then did a factory reset, then manually entered stuff in. My most recent crash was tonight when I was trying to add a new AIMesh Lyra node that I jsut got today. The operation worked, but...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

My RT-AC5300 crashes continually with 386.1. I don't think it's lasted longer than 12 hours. This is even after doing the factory reset and fresh install, then entering my config in manually (to rule out bad backups). Not seeing anything noteworthy in the syslog. No problems at all with 384.19...

Asus RT-AC3200 Smart Connect Rules Fine Tuning

Me too. In my case, it was Android tablets, but it was just too annoying. All my clients work fine when I turn off this garbage and just connect everything to the high 5gHz band.

    NAT Loopback problem on RT-AC3200

I'm using RMerlin 378.51 final build on my RT-AC3200. I have an asuscomm.com ddns domain name set up. I use IPP on my Lexmark printer, so I have WAN port 631 forwarded to my printer's port 631 (forwarding both tcp and udp, though probably tcp only would suffice). So on my Win 8.1 laptop, I have...

    wifi drops on 87u

Well, it's definitely a pervasive 87u problem -- Asus exchanged my unit for a brand new one and the same thing happens. This time, about the first thing I did out of the box was to apply the Merlin .50_0 release, then restore factory defaults before I did anything. Still, after some time that I...

    wifi drops on 87u

So, resetting to factory defaults didn't help. Same problem with clients getting disconnected on 5gHz band. I also see that, less dramatic but still annoying, I get about half the download throughput in my usual location as I get from my AC66 in the exact same spot for client/router (~75 MBps vs...

    wifi drops on 87u

Yeah good idea. It occurred to me after posting that I had not done that and so I went ahead and did a factory reset (easier to do from the router web page, actually). I generally only use wifi in the evening, so I'll see what happens tonight. It would be a shame to have to send the router back...

    wifi drops on 87u

rt-ac87u 5gH wifi drops I wonder if anyone has suggestions. I am trying out a new rt-ac87u, using the new .50beta (the router is brand new; so far, this is the only firmware I've really tried). Anyway, after a little while - a few minutes perhaps - my win8.1 laptop (using an intel 6300 mini...

    [CLOSED] Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 1 is out

Quantenna driver update? Have you heard anything from Asus about getting the GPL for the Quantenna driver for the rt-ac87u, or are you still having to use an an older one?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

OK, so the readme didn't show 38_2 in the changelog because I'd apparently unzipped the _1 update. Sorry. However, now that I have 38_2 applied on my AC66u, there is a minor annoying change in behavior. I'm guessing the tag for the existing SSID and Wireless Key values on the right side under...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

I didn't see this mentioned before, so, fwiw: README-Merlin.txt does not have anything in the changelog documenting the change from 3.0.0.4.374.38_1 to 3.0.0.4.374.38_2 (downloaded the rt-ac66u version).

WOL page not working on Firefox

Using Firefox 25.0.1 and RT-AC66u Merlin firmware 375.35 (also tried 34.2), I've noticed that I can no longer click on the MAC address to populate the WOL target box (kind of a dumb interface decision IMO, but that's another story). Anyway, this used to work as of a month ago or so -- last time...

Broadcom ACSD service Does the new beta (or, indeed the released 372.31) disable the Broadcom ACSD service (security hole)?

    possible security holes with RT-N66U

I'm confused: I see that Asus has a .372 firmware dated 7/12 that purports to have "Fixed AiCloud vulnerability related bugs." Is this source later than the merlin 372 build? Have they actually fixed anything?

    bogus message after wireless change

Using firmware:3.0.0.4.372.30_2 on my RT-AC66u. On a computer connected via wired gigE directly to the RT-AC66U switch, I updated the power level of the 5gHz connection. Once it was done, it redirected me to http://192.168.1.1/SaveRestart.asp with the (strangely-formatted) message "Settings...
