wireless n is sooo nice. I'm getting the same speeds in a speedtest that im getting on my desktop computer (wired), and data transfer between two computers in a network is almost as fast as true ethernet (wired) I'm luvin n- llmercll

Bit torrent router optimization
I really don't understand a lot of the settings on my dir-655 router, and even those I do understand I'm not sure what they affect... I'm asking what would be a good configuration for optimal bit torrent traffic, maybe to reduce the lag from games or browsing while seeding or downloading... -

Can Qos solve my delimma?
Don't take my word for it, because I'm still a networking n00bie, but I'm pretty sure QoS actually gives MORE bandwidth to the games. Although it may be entirely possible to swap that by customizing it yourself, like I think you mentioned. -

Finally got the dir-655!! ups and downs

ok, well im just looking for confirmation, i don't know jack about routers and don't want to misread anything. http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/30542/228/1/3/ according to this chart then, draft 11n is 2x as fast as g at 1t. and 2t and 3t gets even faster. which n are we talking... -

its ok if draft n wont be firmware upgraded to standard n, not a big deal for me since its either draft n or g, and neither will be upgraded to standard n with firmware on its release. range also doesn't matter for me, i need anything special what im interested in is bandwidth and speeds... -

well not exactly, i meant should i run a wireless n draft 2 is it? or stick with wireless g/b mixed until n grows up a little i found out my laptop had a wireless n chip so thats why im curious- llmercll

ahh yeah thank you, im actually surprised, my laptop and desktop both have gigabit ethernet, w00t!!! also something i just found out...my notebook is capable of 802.11n Wireless LAN does that mean i can/should i use wireless n technology with my new dir-655 router?- llmercll
