    \ Did you set a static IP for your pc ? In the case you did not set a static IP adress for the router please try to set one. In my case the problem was with the DHCP server of the N66U, after setting a static ip the problem was gone.

    It works under 64bit , i really think that VMware is the problem when compiling instead use virtualbox. Its free and afterward you can delete it.

    Yes you could use that , but be aware that i have heard a couple of problems with 3TB drive. For some people they tend to work and for some they give some problems.

    Maybe you should check that the disk isnt consuming to much power from your router. Its a common problem that the adapter you get with the router is insufficient for powering hard disks. Also did you check the disk spindown settings of the router isnt the disk just spinning down because of a...

    Buy the RT-N66U, as from now the CFE is fixed you can flash it yourself. Tomato is supported and ddwrt works but needs some bug fixes. The AC is not supported by ddwrt and i doubt it will ever be, but thats just a small argument merlin-WRT works perfect for the AC it also does for the N66U...
