    RT-N66U WAN->LAN Routing Throughput

Does anyone know what the CPU in the N66 is capable of routing? It's maxing out at 220-ish Mbps (WAN->LAN Downstream). I'm running one of Toastman's builds thats a few months old [tomato-K26USB-NVRAM64K-1.28.0505-MIPSR2Toastman-RT-N-Ext.trx] with only a few rules in access restrictions (no QoS).

Block all traffic for a single subdomain (not just http)

I have a router running a Toastman build of tomato and I'm looking to block "mesu.apple.com" for only ONE device (by its MAC address). I've tried blocking it with iptables but it rotates IP's way too frequently to block it that way. Any suggestions on how I would block that subdomain for only...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

Am I the only one who finds it disconcerting that they added a "optimize xbox" tick box instead of just fixing and re-compiling a supposedly faulty wireless driver? I really hope this isn't a hack and instead they worked with Broadcom to fix the driver code if that was the problem...

    Xbox 360 Slim - 11n slow, 11g normal

Yes, Sort of. Instead of a different wireless adapter, I used a spare router (RT-N16) I had lying around. It's a half-a*s fix but it works. FYI this is (apparently) a known issue with the 360's wireless adapter and some routers. Bluepoint pointed it out to me in this other thread I made...

Xbox 360 only connecting at 5.5Mbps to RT-N66U

If anyone gets here via Google, any updates can be found here (page 15 is where I started posting): http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=7774

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

Another Router with the same problem? - http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50107.0 I don't have patience to read through the thread as I've already "fixed" the problem by hooking up a spare RT-N16, but it seems like the same crap that's happening with the RT-N66U and 2012...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

Not accounting for flaws in UPnP, I trust every device on my LAN. Not only that every but PC I have runs its own secondary firewall. If there is a device that has malware on my network I've got more problems that some open ports. I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying if your careful...

Access Point mode settings on Tomato

I know, but it was already running Tomato from when it was my main router.

Access Point mode settings on Tomato

Can someone point out all the things to change to let a second router act as just another wireless radio (specifically on Toastman's builds)? Edit: I think everything is working, but I would to make sure I didn't miss anything. So far I've got: Disable WAN Port (by checking "Use WAN port...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

You could manually open the ports or DMZ the entire 360 but why? The 360 uses UPnP to automatically open ports. All you have to do is find the "Enable UPnP" option in the routers settings, check it and your done. As for the 360 Slim wireless card, I've given up. Dusting off my RT-N16 and...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

Looks like Microsoft has guides for a small bunch of wireless routers. - http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/networking-hardware/02-routers/default.aspx Every guide has you change the wireless mode to G ONLY. WTF. I don't know if this means Microsoft knows about the wireless N...

Xbox 360 only connecting at 5.5Mbps to RT-N66U

Thank-you for linking me to that thread bluepoint, but at this point (until I investigate more) I believe the 360 Slim is negotiating the wrong Link Rate and it has nothing to do with my router (details after the break). --- My 2012 AirPort Express does almost exactly the same thing (see...

    Xbox360 wireless connection problem

TLDR: The 360 is negotiating the WRONG Link Rate. It seems it doesn't only effect Broadcom drivers, but Atheros as well. Go to http://192.168.1.1/tools-shell.asp and type "wl rate 54", and watch your download speed on N increase to about 2MB/s (this is only temporary and will eventually...

Xbox 360 only connecting at 5.5Mbps to RT-N66U

For some reason my 360S will only connect at a rate of 5.5Mbps on Wireless N (B/G works fine). Manually changing the rate in the router System console (wl rate 54) fixes the problem temporarily. I've tried doing a Factory Reset on the 360, changing any setting that might be relevant on the...

    Xbox 360 Slim - 11n slow, 11g normal

It seems the 360 is only negotiating a connection rate of 5.5Mbps with the Access Point. If I go into the routers console and execute "wl rate 54" it will temporally bring my download speeds up to 2MB/s. (The rate command only supports up to 54 but I'm sure I could 3MB/s if I could go...

    Xbox 360 Slim - 11n slow, 11g normal

For a little further testing I put the AirPort Express in "Join a Network" mode, joined my 11n network and connected (wired) the AirPort Express to the 360. I then started a download and placed it (the AE) in different positions around my Xbox. I wasn't able to find any dead-zones. My only...

    Xbox 360 Slim - 11n slow, 11g normal

OK, I'm in the same dam room as the 360 now and it's not any better (thank god for that 50ft Cat6 cable I bought). So I guess I'm out to buy a new 360. Does anyone have advise on convincing Microsoft the POS they shipped is broken and to repair it?

    Xbox 360 Slim - 11n slow, 11g normal

I just tried a 2012 AirPort Express and while the it slightly better (700KB/s), 11n its still not working correctly on the 360. Next I'm going to try moving a router into the same room and then buy a new Xbox 360 Slim.

    Xbox 360 Slim - 11n slow, 11g normal

TLDR: Xbox 360s Wireless N is slow as shirt, Wireless G is normal. Did lots of tests, all other devices normal. Is probably going to replace the 360. Microsofts Xbox live max download speed is only 3MB/s. --- I'm sort of pulling my hair out here trying to figure this out...
