    TLS1.3 support?

Hi, a general question (as it would be important for ovpn): Currently, I am using an Asus RT-AC87U with 384.7_2. Question: Will there be a support fo openssl1.1.1x or better TLS1.3? Currently the less secure (or unsecure) version 1.0.2p is included. What would be the precondition, any...

Compatibility with IOS (OpenVPN Connect / PolarSSL)

Hi, it's not about Aususwrt-Merlin, but hope to get some valuable answers here ;-) Currently OpenVPN is properly set up on Router, Win10 and Android, but not on IOS 11.2. As you know "OpenVPN Connect" was not updated on the Apple store since roughly one year - for what ever reason maybe forced...

VPN for ASUS GT-AC5300 ROG Rapture Wireless AC5300

@RMerlin Hi, I bought the above mentioned Router (ROG/GT-AC5300). But I havn't seen that this device has no VPN integrated. Therefore I would like to ask if it would be possible to flash the router with "Asuswert-Merlin" and get VPN support??? I am not sure if there is a special reason not to...

VPN connection but no Ping from iOS device

Hi, While using the first VPN with TAP succesfully I am now forced to use an Apple Tablet together with openVPN client. With the configuration below I cannot reach or ping the internal IP's. But can ping the router IP itself: 192.168.x.1 and the VPN server: 10.16.0.1 as well!! So I am confused...

    AC87U / Duo Security / OpenVPN / 2 Factor Authentication

Hi there, is there a possibility to integrate Duo Security into the AC87U (or maybe any other newer Asus router)? https://duo.com/docs/openvpn I need to secure the integrated OpenVPN server with Two Factor Authentication. Any live experience already (would be great if someone already did it)...

    inbound proxy domain.com:123 --> internal 192.168.1.500:456 (RDP)

Hi, I was searching the thread but without any result (hopefully nothing missed). I am planning (or thinking over) to activate RDP access from public web without any VPN and as much secure as possible (please no discussion like VPN yes/no). As I am working in different companies I need to use...

How to generate keys for OpenVPN

Hi, I am using an AC87U with newest version 55.0. Is there currently a rule how to generate ca and keys, given the fact that there are newer openSSL versions? If I generate those keys on a newest Linux machine is there a mismatch or are there only not supported/missing (more secure) cipher...

web server internally not accessible, but externally

I am a little bit lost (just installed last version of Merlin on a RT-AC87U). Having a web server running on an internal IP 192.168.1.50 I see the basic wwww-server page using the internal IP (but of course not the virtual server www.abc.com). So web server is running and accessible...

admin access / ip-adress / how to change and hard-reset

Hi, I changed the router's main IP-address from 192.168.1.1 to another one (192.168.5.1). But I forgot to change most likely the allowed IP for remote administration which I initially set to 192.168.1.99. So -the AC66U having the wished IP now- I can't access the administration page (?because...

    Web-GUI/ Samba-Shares stopping regularily

Hi, I am experiencing very often that the Samba shares (connected USB HDD) or even the Admin-GUI some times isn't working. WLAN/IP-Routing is still working, I can SSH and restart the router. Afterwards all is fine again. This is currently the only cure... BTW: I have a daily reboot cron job...

    DynDNS own Scripts/cron jobs

Hi, Regarding DynDNS (on Merlin build 3.0.0.4.260.21) I have some questions: 1. General: I created a DynDNS account at asuscomm.com, but it seems that it isn't working correctly. Comparing the public IP from the Cable Provider and the pinged IP the result shows completely different IP’s. So...
