Something to place in-between modem and router for traffic stats?

Setup is basic. NAT is disabled, firewall is disabled. Only thing it could be is the intel 2.5G nics. Before reboot bypassing pfsense issue is not there make wan go through pfsense latency shoots over 1000ms even pinging the modem is over 1000ms.

ASUS vs UDM Pro Routing Performance?

Thats unrelated. Dream machines are not part of that. Also thats due to people using default logins.

Something to place in-between modem and router for traffic stats?

Thats interesting, but from what I gather thats just QoS? I don't need QoS. Bufferbloat is min for me except when ISP is having congestion issues. QoSing 1.2gbps would bring down performance pretty bad depending on the router.

Something to place in-between modem and router for traffic stats?

Huh? Pfsense in bridge mode for just traffic stats > UDM Pro (which IS a router)

Something to place in-between modem and router for traffic stats?

Using a UDM Pro and the Traffic stats are just useless. Looking for something like vnstat day/month/year and possibly current live usage in a web-gui. Currently using pfsense in bridge mode but its been giving weird issues lately and its a bit of a waste. I've tried using OpenWRT but only way...

ASUS vs UDM Pro Routing Performance?

Like general routing performance not throughput if that makes sense, how do they compare? Currently have a UDM Pro and some AP's. Two houses connected together via local fiber. Just 2 VLANs one for IoT and the other for my parents for there WiFi. I always used to use ASUS for the longest time...

I am surprised about getting 800 Mbps over wireless (Wi-Fi 6)

With my AX11000 Can easily pull around 1700mbps over WiFi in the same room with my S22 Ultra, and on the other end of the house around 800mbps. Can even pull right at close to 200mbps on 2.4GHz in the same room of course. At least with the AX11000 2.4GHz range is only slightly better but its...

    It's teaser-time. Because why not.

VLANS is one feature I've been waiting for! I did figure out that enabling the guest network I can tag VLAN 502 and any wired device also gets that IP and it on the guest network.

RESOLVED (Smoked 1gb WAN port) I'm stumped--slow Modem to Router speeds RT-AX86U

Ouch yeah WAN port done for. Had this happen on my rackmount netgear nas last month. Which I kept at my parents house, Lighting hit an outside camera killed the PoE injector, 8 port switch, and crippled one of the ethernet ports on my nas. The camera was still fine! and no other device on that...

Guest VLAN Working on AX11000 Ethernet!

Sorry if this has been posted already, So recently I've been needing 2 extra VLANS, Mostly so I can easily seperate my network from my parents (seperate houses connected via fiber) So my parents are not double NAT'd. We have 2 IP's from the ISP so I did have there Eero router connected to the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

In the US plenty of providers using CGNAT. My provider does. And wont even provide static unless your a business customer. But thankfully I got grandfathered into my free static from years ago. Also my provider doesn't even have ipv6

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

I normally use the 5GHz-1 band 36-64. But the Synology the only radio that has 160MHz forces you to use the upper channels. But tested my AX11000 on channel 100 160MHz for a week and it never did drop. And less than 48 hours on the synology using channel 100 it'll move to channel 149 80MHz...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

My GT-AX11000 has been running 160mhz for over a year now. Its never dropped to 80mhz. Now the new Synology 6600AX on the other hand drops 160MHz after a day or 2 of uptime.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Updated 2 days ago factory reset clean setup. Still getting these like I did in beta. Once again after 12 hours of uptime it starts up. Logs every other second until reboot. AX110000 kernel: CONSOLE: 046512.672 tx:prep:802.1x Jun 26 09:43:47 kernel: dhd_prot_ioctl: status ret value is -17...

    Synology RT6600AX

Another strange issue I've discovered. When transfering to one of my NAS's which has a broked ethernet jack causing it to the 10/100 of coruse the transfer speeds are low, but it causes my overall local network ping to shoot up between 30ms to 255ms when copying. And while the ASUS doesnt do...

    Synology RT6600AX

2.4ghz as an example. Far right is the Synology I'm right beside it basically in the same open room. The middle is an AP for a different network of mine that's through a wall in another room

    Synology RT6600AX

Finally got one today! So far one disappointing thing is the WiFi range is meh. It covers the inside of my 1200sqft home perfectly, but outside not so much compared to my ASUS AX11000. About 250ft away from my house outside I can normally get around 250mbps on 5GHz and around 425ft away I can...
