[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 (and 384.13_6) are now available

I bought another AC88U, once I only set up my main wireless network and then a guest network the problem started again. It's not isolated to my one router but seems to be a problem with the firmware(Asus in general, no fault to Merlin). Seems releases .14-.16 all have the same problem when using...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 (and 384.13_6) are now available

How can you test to see if my router is toast? After updating and doing a fresh reset, my AC88U is losing wifi connections and the guest network just stops working after a few minutes. It worked great up until I hard reset. Even downgrading to version .14 and .15, the guest network no longer...

Problem with Guest Network (Wrong Password)

Have you tried any of the newer firmwares? I have had the same problem after resetting my router but didn't have the problem on ***.14 and ***.15 and problem didn't start until I hard reset my AC88U for version 16. I downgraded my firmware but the problem persists.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 (and 384.13_6) are now available

Having the same/similar problem as this user: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/problem-with-guest-network-wrong-password.61946/ Can any other users with an AC88U create a guest network and see if devices stay connected? All my smart devices (smart plugs, bulbs, lightswitches, so on) are on a...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 (and 384.13_6) are now available

Simple question, I want to reset my router to start clean. I know restoring from a backup.cfg file is not recommended and should enter everything manually. Does this also apply for the backup_jffs.tar?

    AC68U A2 vs AC66U B1

I have an AC88U and an AC66U as my extended mesh router. No problems so far, working pretty well.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 Beta is now available

What can I do to help you identify the issue? I am not proficient but willing to give you a file dump or something if needed.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 Beta is now available

I am getting the same as you on the last release and hoping it would be fixed on this one. I am using the AC88U and even did a fresh flash and manually entering the settings and the issue still exists. It causes issues with my streams. I am using openDNS and have manual DNS settings. There have...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 is now available

I am also getting the dnsmasq error. Using the AC88U with a VPN server, using DNS from OpenDNS for both ipv4 and ipv6. I did a fresh flash the last release, dirty flash this release. (I need to remember how to save my DHCP leases , VPN config and DDNS settings). It seems if this error keeps...

Good to know, I will reset and install and see how it goes. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Merlin 380.65_2 - Both Wifi Dropping In and Out

I have a similar situation where the wifi randomly drops out randomly. Usually it happens after a couple hour of use or when downloading larger files and using multiple devices. Would it be better to use John's fork for older models like the ac66u/w or is there a problem with the drivers asus...

How to switch off 5G led?

On my router (AC88U) from the main page go to TOOLS>Other settings tab>Stealth Mode (disable all LEDs).

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

You can install it and let us know. For now, I am using Johns fork on my AC66U in Repeater mode since I was experiencing the same problem.

    Few questions, ipv6 and OpenVPN

Thank you for the reply. I have the openvpn server running on my ac88u router. My Tmobile phone uses ipv6, so it has issues with the connection even if I have my home router using ipv6. The openvpn app says it supports ipv6 but you state it's not supported on the server side? Is there a drawback...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

Thank you for your help. I tried all the troubleshooting. After some research, it seems to be a problem with Time Warner's firmware for the SB6183 cable modem. I found this from the TW forum: I lost IPv6 on my SB6183 when I updated the firmware and did a boot cycle for both my modem and...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

I have powered down my modem and router for over 5 minutes. I don't have anything attached and can't seem to get an IPv6 address from Time Warner. Even resetting the device and doing a 5 minute power cycle again and I cannot get an IPv6 address from Time Warner. I tried activating IPv6 before...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

Thank you for catching that. I will activate my IPv6 with Time Warner again and check my devices. Also I am using John's fork for my AC66u and seems to be working better than .58.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

I am also having this problem. I kept rebooting my router and my cable modem thinking it was a problem with TW. Maybe it's something to do with the firmware on the same AC88U.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

My AC66U seems to be restarting every 5 minutes in repeater mode (from an AC88U). I did the mtd-erased the nvram, rebooted, reflashed again with 380.58 and still have the issue for some reason. I will downgrade back to .56_2 and see if the problem persists.
