    Data transfer speed between two connected HDD's

    I'm only transferring at a 2 MB/s when moving files between two connected USB 2.0 external HDD's. I've never used the USB ports on a router before, but should this be as slow as it is? I'm also at a terribly slow transfer rate through wifi on 2.4ghz, typically 3-5 MB/s. I haven't tried...

    Asus USB-AC53 Adapter

    Asus released a 802.11AC USB adapter, but it's USB 2.0. Is it possible to achieve speeds it's claiming on USB 2.0? I know it's new, but is there any reason to think that it would be better to hold off on this?

    I currently have a really old WRT54G router with two WD TV Streaming Media Player's each with a HDD connected via wifi.
